Quick question. I'm considering purchasing a used MyCal that's currently married to another car. Throughout the forum posts that span multiple years, I see the cost of un-marrying the programmer to be between $250 and $300. As of today (July 22nd, 2016), what is the cost to do this?
Thanks in advance!
It's 300.00 to unlock the unit (re-licensing fee)with unlimited lifetime tunes and you can always email them at info@livernoismotorsports.com. and enjoy the perma-grin factor that comes with it. Z
Thanks for the clarification!
The way that the tuner process would work if someone were interested in purchasing this tuner is:
The OP flashes the car back to stock.
The OP and yourself finalize whatever deal you agree upon.
Upon receiving the tuner, the buyer contacts us to initiate the transfer process.
There is a transfer fee of $300 that is required for us to unlock and reassign the tuner.
After that fee is covered, we will issue you a series of updates to the tuner so that it will read out your stock calibration.
We provide you with a program to load onto your PC that connects to our secured remote tuning server.
You plug the tuner into your PC, open above mentioned program and then click "Update Tuner".
That will send us your stock calibration allowing us to build your custom tuning.
Once your new tunes are built we will send you an email alerting you that it is now time to load the tunes onto your handheld utilizing the same application we provided you with.
After that all that you have to do is load your new custom tunes onto your vehicle and go have fun!
Fantastic! Thank you both for the complete info in a single thread! I went ahead and purchased the MyCal. As soon as I get it, I'll be contacting LMS directly to start the process.

That's what I read says nothing about mailing the tuner back to them...
Was told it is a new policy to mail the tuner back to livernois
I see. Maybe they want to recapture the units or made some mods to them :D
