Recently I installed aftermarket catted downpipes. Since then I have been hearing a whistling noise only during WOT or when the turbos kick in. I would also add that the noise sounds similar to a squeaking noise, like something needs oiled. Just wondering if anyone else hears this noise, if this is a common thing or whether I have a problem I need to address? For reference my car is tuned, has an Airaid CAI and Corsa cat back exhaust. Thanks.
Check for exhaust leaks esp at the gaskets where the downpipes meet the turboback/catback exhaust. It may be normal to hear a little squeaking/honking sound due to the equipment/tune combo also, usually at blowoff.
BTW, I don't see the DPs listed in your sig?
I certainly agree with SHOdded regarding new gaskets x4 are needed or you can add some Rtv silicone around the gaskets, also did you install new bolts from the DP To the Exhaust which could explain the Squea and probably will be a good time to re-torque those bolts. Z
I reused the gaskets and bolts. I'll try re-torquing the bolts at the DP/cat back connection first since that is the easiest location to get to.
Does ford re-torque the exhaust bolts after the initial assembly on the assembly line?..and Z do you install new studs in the turbos when you take your down pipes off?
Pejohnson the original bolts are certainly rusty, spray some WD-40 on the bolts by the Flange to see if the squeak goes away and the bolts need to be to be torqued at 45lb,they could be somewhat loose. Z
Thanks Z. Squeak / whistle only happens when turbos kick in. No rusty bolts here. She hasn't seen winters or salt hear in Ohio yet. I'll re-torque bolts and access again. Possibly I need new gaskets however they looked great when I reinstalled them.

I would also check for any leaks preferably in the morning when the car is cold, let her idle for 10-15min and check for any visible amounts of H20 on the ground, hows the idle? If so probably need new gaskets, heres a good link,#3 & #8 on the Diagram. Thanks Z for the link. Very helpful. Idle is a good question. When I installed the new downpipes I installed the new V10 LMS tune so I don't have a good base line yet. I'm guessing I have an exhaust leak somewhere since I used the original gaskets.

When i had my PTU Fluid changed at the Dealer they installed new gaskets for me and since then my idle is smooth as butter, prior to that had a intermittent rough idle on cold am startups. Z
Always some great pics to share, Z!
