Title: Tune's Question
Post by: ElvenSho on April 13, 2016, 10:35:17 PM
Do our tunes take time to start "working"? The reason I ask is because I have a friend with a 2011 bmw 335i who I raced while on 92 octane tune with e10 which I beat him by about a car and a half up to 120. The only mods he has is dps and is waiting on a harness for the jb4 tune. Well anyways I beat him but I felt that top end 80+ I wasent pulling on him much so I decided to go put 93 octane since I was low on gas and load my 93 octane tune that has 16 revisions with Torrie. To make the story short I pulled initially and than started to lose and by 120 he was right next to me so I did worse than with 92 octane tune. Well I decided to go top off my car with 93 few hours ago and took a little drive, the car seems to be stronger than when we raced which has about 20 miles on it since I loaded the tune.

I'm confused, initially when you first raced with the 93 tune, was there E92 in the tank?

I doubt there is that much of a difference in your tunes....id say your race isnt a good way to evaluate...sounds close both races.....i noticed even when i reflash and reset kam my oar is the same...so your oar shouldve been the same ...my point is i doubt there was any difference from octane learning unless you had some crap gas ...maybe ur 92 tune tune was unrefined and aggressive and your 93 tune was running apprpriately or there is more left in it.....and i expect the bimmer to pull better than yours since its lighter

They do 13.6@106 while I ran 12.8@108, he should not be pulling me anywhere I would think? Also I did have a passanger thats like 190 pounds while he was alone but that shouldnt make my car that much slower? I just hate thinking something is off with my car ughh

A good reason to log your races when possible. My understanding is that it makes no difference at WOT, the trims have to do with partial throttle. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Anyways like AJ said those tunes sound like they would be very similar. No telling what could have slowed one down over the other at that very moment without seeing the logs.

93e10 or 93e0 for maximum performance?
