Contact Jason at fordpimods.com, he can tell you what is/is not possible.

Otherwise there's the LockPick solution

I believe lockpick will allow that.

I believe only the touchscreen input is disabled at 3mph or so. You can still input addresses etc. with voice commends... Say "navigation" and then follow the prompts. Works on my '13 SHO anyway.

I spend more time yelling at sync than if I just pull over and manually punch it in.  I'm so insanely jealous for people getting Sync 3 with CarPlay.

We added a new blue oval to our herd last week.  My wife wanted a little econocar...so she picked up a Kona blue Focus Titanium.  It has Sync3 and from my limited play time with it I too am a bit jelly.

On a side note I like the full nav on the right side like ZSHO has....hhhhmmm....might have to talk to my dealer to see if they'd do the programming for me. :D

If your essentially looking to add Navi on the right hand of the instrument cluster you will need a AB File and place it in the calibration file directory for IDS,generally this will be C/Program files/Ford motor company/calibration files.now when the dealer runs the IDS program they will need to check for any DTC'S and just like a tune they will need to clear them in order to proceed to the next steps which will also involve module programming asv built IPC and you will need your vin number for the next process which will roughly take 15-20 min to program with IDS,so essentially a tech will have no clue how to install/program it without the proper directions which i have on file and of course Jason over at PI.Mods.  Z    ;) (http://;))

Let me clerify.

How to remove the nanny state feature that does not allow u to enter addresses in while driving. I hate how I have to stop to enter info.

BMW I drive best info-tanment system. Sync compared to that is cap. Miss I drive but I digress.

I will definitely have some info pertaining to disabling this feature soon and if indeed can be done with/without the use if a lock pick, and please do setup a signature so we can identify your current vehicle m3dragon,cheers.  Z

It unfortunately cannot be disabled without utilizing a lockpick which can be a bit costly and then needing to have it installed. Z

If a lock pick can do it there probably is away probably by way of blocking speed signal to apm maybe a way to add a switch to data connection to turn data off when you want to input something then turn the switch. I'm sure there is a better way but there are ways if someone has figured it out. Just have to know what method of many they are using.
Or it could be using a complicated set of programming.

I have a lockpick sitting in my office waiting to be installed, it does a lot more than just let you use the Nav too, it also allows for DVD's picture (not just audio) to be seen while driving and other things like access the reverse camera at all times (so you can see behind you even when driving forward for instance)

Regarding how it works, i read somewhere it uses several things, like GPS speed/ping and transmission gear (it detects your in P or D for instance)

I haven't tried this yet, but there seems to be evidence it can be done using Forscan

https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/general/myford-touch-hack-enable-features-t3321397/page62

See post #612 as well as a few replies before and after.   Different regions allow for different rules regarding nav lockout, so by using Forescan, they are changing the region to allow for it.  It does disable Sirrius travel link
