Title: Should grille question
Post by: Syndicate1924 on March 15, 2016, 10:03:44 PM
Hey fellas, I'm going to pick up a 2013 Taurus sho Saturday for a daily. Upon doing research on these vehicles I came across a SHO with a "mobsteel" grille and sho emblem. I wanted to go ahead and purchase the grille as my first mod. But I can't for the life of me find a link for it anywhere. I saw some that look similar on eBay but I was hoping someone had a direct link? Thanks in advance.

Mobsteel has since sold their tooling to another company which has been found to be pretty unreliable.  I think the mobsteel is only for 2010-2012 anyways though.

Oh that is unfortunate! Are there other grille options that aren't cheap eBay ones for the 13 up?

Welcome aboard the EBPF Syndicate, agree with Blackhawk as the mobsteel is only available for the 10-12 SHO and please avoid Tommy grille at all costs, please post a pic of the new ride soon and check out this link.  Z   http://www.carid.com/2013-ford-taurus-grill/ (http://www.carid.com/2013-ford-taurus-grill/)

Thanks zsho! I'll be sure to make an official intro once the keys are in my hand. And I will avoid him, only took a few Google searches for several threads to show up. Good looking out!

I remember 10 years ago when I could get a nice grill for less then 200, it's pretty crazy how expensive they are.  The mobsteel one looks the best by far for the 2010-2012 but I can't get myself to shell out that much cash for an appearance mod.

Welcome to the community, Syndicate, hope all goes well with taking delivery of your new ride!

An option for the 2013+ might be another OEM product:  the Police Interceptor grille.  At the very least, it looks more "aggressive".  Not sure how much work it would be though, don't remember seeing a writeup on this.

Thank you all for the warm welcome guys and help with my issue! It's sad that mobsteel didn't continue that good looking grille for the new front end style.

Found this one which is pretty close it looks like. Hard to tell with the chrome trim still around it. Which I will make sure to paint black.

Mrs FoMoCoSHO quoted me an hour of labor plus $110 ish for the Interceptor grill.

I really like how the billet grill looks but not sure how I feel about the lack of frame around the outside. Upon closer inspection, it seems to look a bit "unfinished"

I would like to find a solution that deletes the Ford badge as I think its a much cleaner look.
