Getting my sp584 (if I remember correctly)spark plugs, 3 bar MAP sensor, and that certain T stat that was recommended installed today. I have a 2011 MKS Lincoln eco. I'll be installing the unleashed 93 Boost tune.
Any recommendations on what to do after the tune is installed? Like drive it around a bit or bring it on the high way and try wot? Things to look for etc.
I've had this sct x4 and the tune for about a year. I'm a big procrastinator
Protect the driver's side window from the left-hand side of the huge permagrin you'll get when you get in and go for that first drive! :yell:
I'm really psyched. After I bought the car I had buyers remorse a bit because it just didn't have that get up and go I wanted. I came from a 2006 Chrysler 300C AWD that had a tune but from what I have been told the tune is nothing near what the tunes on the ecoboosts do.
One question I do have. I understand the 3 bar map doesn't run well on the car without a tune but do you think it would be okay with it started and backed out of the garage where I'll then put the tune on? I don't wanna mess up my engine. Or would you pull up to the garage, install the tune first then hand it over to them?
Install the 3 bar. Do not start the car. Install the 3 bar tune. It sounds like you are having someone else install the plugs, thermostat and 3 bar. The 3 bar is a very easy do-it-yourself 2 minute job. I would get the plugs and thermostat changed first. Those changes can be made regardless of the tune. Then I would do the 3 bar and tune at the same time without starting the car.

With stock tune and the 3BAR installed it may not start, and will run like s___ if it does... Also the shift into reverse is traumatically hard... Put the car where you want it to tune... Then change the MAP sensor.
Looks like BiGMaC and I replied at the same time and provided the same advice.
Good advice. I'll install the 3 bar myself at home and install the tune. Are there any links to where the 3 bar is in the 2011 Lincoln mks?
Remove the engine cover by simply pulling up on it. The sensor is located as shown in this picture.

I would just make certain before installing the tune that all the components such as the wipers,radio,a/c are off and do not open the doors until the programming is finished, best of luck and enjoy. Z ;)
Excellent advice by Z. Turn off the automatic headlights as well. Also, you will need the appropriate size torx bit for screw holding the 3 bar map sensor, too.
Thanks a ton guys. Appreicate the input
You will love it. It will leave that 2006 C you had in the dust.
1. Install 3 bar
2. Upload tune
3. Immediately apply daily beating
4. wipe drool and smile from face
In all seriousness though, don't be concerned if weird things happen during the flash. On my car you will hear blend doors open and close, interior lights go out, and the wipers activate. Afterwards I see the sync maintenance screen and have to reset my sound settings. Everything else holds.
The car will most likely shift very hard. This is normal. If adaptive learning hasn't softened it to an acceptable level in 2-3 days let Torrie know it's too hard and he will adjust.
I highly recommend taking advantage of the data log-retune process.
yea I'm going to try to start learning about that now.
