Title: Code PO52D
Post by: Shonuff1140 on January 15, 2016, 11:44:29 PM
I have been getting a repeat PO52D lately, it hasn't affected performance, and I am curious as to how many other forum members have had it, or if it is an expensive fix.

P0520 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Malfunction ?
or
P052D - Cold start camshaft position overretarded bank2 ?  Most likely a cam phaser or wiring to the solenoid (dirty connector, loose wire, etc)

What oil & filter are you running?  Hear any extended rattles on startup?

P052D, I run the recommended 5W-30 Synthetic oil and Motorcraft filter. Its went off on its own, and hasn't came back so it must just be a soft code. There is no rattle and the car runs strong, just came on and went off on its own. Thanks for all the replies.

Good luck, hope it stays away!
