Hello all from the not so frozen tundra.
new member here . I currently own a 13 Lincoln MKT ecoboost but the real reason for my joining the for joining is a very special ecoboost project I have in the works. For the past year Bennett Coachworks of Milwaukee (www.hotrodbuilders.com (http://www.hotrodbuilders.com) ) has been installing a 3.5 ecoboost crate motor and 6 spd auto into my 1993 Jaguar xjs replacing the 4.0 six. The install is almost complete . As you can imagine the mounting hardware requires a lot of custom fabrication , and the turbos had to be repositioned from rear to front and all the re-routing of plumbing and custom mounts for a,c, ps ect. There are some pics that can be seen at their facebook page. The real challenge is the engine, chassis, trans, interface .There is ,as you know, a control pack for manual trans application, and Bennett has some leads for this application but any input on how to solve this would be appreciated. They will be posting updates as well as a possible feature on their facebook page.
Thanks for any interest
Noel
Welcome! That's an interesting project, you should start a build thread or link to one if you have it on another forum.
Scott
Thanks Scott, Bennett's facebook page is chronicaling the build and I will post some pics soon.
Noel
Welcome, Noel, glad to have ya here! We keep hearing of these one-off projects now & again, especially with the recent availability of a controller unit. What springs to mind is the F100 project chronicled by another member on here, and I feel he might be a good resource for you/your project with the '93 Jag.
