Went to the track today for the final season test and tune. Lots of cars so they split it up with left lane being street tires, right lane was slick cars. Only mods are LMS 91 3 bar tune and 160 thermostat.
I ran 4 times and every single run was a 13.02x at 106.5x. Was really frustrated that I didn't grab that 12 second slip but part of it was my fault...I was hauling a 1/2 a tank of gas instead of a 1/4. The other part was people dragging water from the box with their street tires. Part of the reason I hate test and tune days. DA was roughly 1300 ft.
Another SHO at the track, he was tuned (unknown tuner 91 octane), CAI, deleted 3rd cat/resonator and magnaflow mufflers. He clicked off a 12.88 at 106.

That's what more mods will do for you.

I might try again next weekend. This time with a little less gas and hopefully less humidity.
What kind of tires are you running?? Did you lower the tire psi a bit? Any traction issues,Definetly would of been in the high 12's if it wasnt for your 60' times, need to get her dialed in and try to get those 60' under 1.8 ,great run. Z
Whats the difference between the 1/2 tank u ran and 1/4 tank....5 gallons?...40 lbs?...thats gonna get u .04 seconds...at the expense of possibly not having the low pressure pump submerged in fuel which is what helps keeps it cool

255/45 Nitto Motivo at 30psi. Next go around I'll play with pressure a little more and drop it to around 25psi. The tires were spinning through first gear, riding that fine line between hooking well and boiling the tires. I played with launching and 60' times were all 1.8x-1.9x. That slip was launching right at 1800. Again a lot of the 60' times depended on who ran in front of me whether they knew to drive around the water box or drive right through it.

13.02-.04=12.98
Every bit counts and .04 seconds could possibly make a difference between a 13.000 and a 12.999 with a good launch. I fully understand the pump stays cool by staying submerged, also a huge difference between a 1/4 tank and the 2 gallons with 0 miles left on the DTE.
This was the first time at the track in this car that I've owned for 3 weeks, and test and tune is exactly what I'm trying to do before future mods over the off season. Before my taurus and my stint in lifted trucks I was playing with 12 second lightnings, and mid 10 second fox body mustangs. Just trying to have a reliable dd that consistently clicks off mid 12's and that is the goal for next season.
