my ppe catted down pipes should be here within a week or so. I'm thinking of having the shop install a magnaflow x pipe in place of the 3rd cat at the same time. just hoping for a little more sound. the rest of the exhaust will remain the same. magnaflow lists a 9" xpipe and 12" xpipe. which one would likely fit better in that space?
It will probably give you a a little bit more sound deleting that 3rd cat but quite honestly would not touch the resonator, pics below of my oem 3rd cat, hope this helps any and the x-pipe should fit in its place. Z
thanks. my ford parts catalog here at work makes the setup look much shorter than it is. I was worried the 12" would be too long. I do not plan on removing the resonator, only the 3rd cat.
thanks. went with the 12"

-MANU the party is never complete without you,you can definetly go with an X-pipe that has an 2.5 inlet-outlet,or certainly as SHOdded suggested the Magnaflow 11386 that has the same dimensions, just a bit longer, anyways some custom welding/cutting is needed to properly attach to the 2.25 stock exhaust. http://support.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=10300 (http://support.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=10300)
