Title: Former SHO owner, now with ExSport
Post by: hawkeye93 on September 15, 2015, 02:54:32 PM
Hello, everyone.  I've been lurking a while, but I thought I'd say Hi.  I bought a 2015 Explorer Sport back in April (on my 44th birthday, sort of a midlife crisis present to myself).  Back in my younger days, I did have 2 Taurus SHOs, a black '89 MT (http://s902.photobucket.com/user/hawkeye93/media/1989%20Ford%20Taurus%20SHO/89%20SHO_zpsnecfiuah.jpg.html), followed by a blue '93 AT (http://s902.photobucket.com/user/hawkeye93/media/1993%20Ford%20Taurus%20SHO/93%20SHO_zpsxawivbx0.jpg.html).  I did belong to a local SHO club back then.

My ExSport is White Platinum Tricoat, almost all options, and so far I've added a 3 bar MAP sensor, new NGK plugs, Reische 170 thermostat, sharkfin antenna, black Gorilla wheel locks, and tunes from both Unleashed and Livernois.  Next up: PPE downpipes & Snow Stage 3.  I also bought an MDesign CAI, but I've since removed it.

Anyway, hello to everyone, and if you're ever near Lakeville, MN, give me a holler.

Scott

Welcome hawkeye93!!!
Good choice with e-sport

Since you have tunes from both of the more popular tuners, what are your impressions of the two ?

As far as the tunes, I was running my initial Unleashed tunes for several months, and I recently had Torrie update my 91 octane tune after I datalogged.  What he sent back was a big improvement.  A couple of weeks ago, I had some poker winnings burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided to give Livernois a try.  I have to say, what I got from them was very exciting.  Out of the box, Livernois was decidedly more impressive, but my refined tune from Unleashed is just about the same.  At the moment, I'm running LME 93 Perf v3.

Glad to hear you enjoy our tune!  I will keep you informed as the next tune release becomes available.  We currently have a new improved version 4 tune in the works that will take your rides performance to the next level for sure.  Upon completion of the first to market 2016 Explorer Sport tuning we have also identified some areas to further improve the version 3 tunes you have now.

Stay tuned for more to come!
