Title: Stereo Upgrade
Post by: Dxlnt1 on September 01, 2015, 06:17:38 AM
Just separating my stereo upgrade. Since on here and other forums wanting to see the install.

My stereo upgrade.

HVAC control:Scosche FD1447B
Head unit:Alpine INE-927HD
Subs: 2-10" Alpine type S
Door speakers: 4-6" Alpine type R
Pillars 2-1" Alpine horns

Touch screen controller for HVAC controls. This allowed me to add NAV to car as my ride did not have it.
The factory amp was left in place. It drives the factory surround speakers (front-back), sub on deck.
There are 2 new amps to drive 4 door speakers and new subs in trunk.
The OEM reverse camera signal was split. So image appears in rear view mirror AND head unit.

Great setup Dave, would of been nice if Ford took some pointers from you in developing a more powerful system with that custom appeal to it,which the sony stock unit and speakers certainly lack in that department.  Z

A couple reference links for future builds. These are the 2 kits that I know of that are available for the Taurus. Crutchfield carries them both. While they speak to Non NAV models, if you can locate the HVAC display then it "should" work on NAV models. Problem is, the display is discontinued by Ford. SO wrecking yard may be only hope!
