Hi everybody! On Saturday I lined up at a red light with a new boss mustang after a car show. We made eye contact, then turned all attention to aggravatingly long red light. The light turned green and we were off. I smoked his ass. This really surprised me being that my only upgrades are tuning and an intake. He pulled up to me at the next light and gave me a thumbs up and a "respect nod" so I know he gave me everything he had. So now you could say I'm hooked and looking for the next upgrade. Any suggestions? Oh and guess what my friend took a video! Hopefully it will work on here.. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw8_oVGdVoOCOW56Ym5mb1dOdnM/edit?usp=docslist_api
You can't share google docs like that. Throw it up on vimeo or youtube
Nice run. Off the line the SHO is hard to beat. Depending on his mods he may have started to reel you back in a little. Video worked fine on the ipotato ...lol
Vid worked on winphone as well...
Sweet kill! My suggestion is to install a meth kit ;)
Worked fine on Android. Any Blackberry users to test it? :D
Nice kill! Wasn't even close.

+1 for a meth kit

What kind of gains are you guys seeing with meth kits? I'll forsure be doing downpipes soon.
That guy had no driving skills what so ever. Stock boss's runs mid 12s stock. He needed a driver mod. Good kill!

That's what I've been assuming haha it was a fun kill though!!
It sounds like the stang missed a shift???
Meth kit in my opinion is like going from stock to tuned all over again. Much more noticeable than downpipes.

Wow I'm surprised they make that much of a difference! I'm kinda new to gas vehicles. I know on diesels they help a lot with egt's but don't add too much performance wise unless you mix it really stiff. I'll have to take a closer look at them. Any kits you recommend?

It really depends who did your tune. Torrie will tune for meth with pretty much anyone's kit.
LMS will only tune for meth with the kit they sell.
2010 RCM non PP
K&N panel filter with aux hose
RX OCC with CSS
sp534 @ 30
unleashed tune 12.90@106
Torrie did my tunes. I think he said his tunes add up to 60hp to the wheels. Will a water meth kit really give me that much of a gain?

I believe it. I would trust Torrie. He definitely knows what he's talking about.

I'm not arguing what Torrie told me. I could tell I gained a lot the second I drove it. What I'm asking is could I really gain 60 to the wheels with a meth kit? How safe are these kits?
I mean if these kits a are safe and I can get upwards of that much power I'll buy one and get a before and after dyno done. Anybody have that snow stage 3??

40 -60 would be my guess with the benefit of a safer operating environment and clean valves.
Yup, I gained 10hp just spraying meth, no tune. Gained right around 50hp total at the wheels after the meth tune.
I've got the Snow Stage 2 kit. I'm not sure if anyone here is running the Stage 3 kit. If they are, I must have missed it.

Looking back I wish I would've done meth before downpipes, but it all worked out in the end.

I have the stage 3 snow kit. It's not totally installed yet. I didn't want to use my washer fluid tank so I am mounting the tank and pump inside the front bumper and I bought the fill res. from alcohol injections along with a #10 nozzle. I have a flex by the way. Not sure if there is a huge diff between the 2 and 3. But it's nice to have the controller on my steering column and read the boost there and can adjust it on the fly. I also have DP's waiting too. Just haven't had much time lately :-(
Is the stage 3 for DI cars now also? At this time last year, it was for EFI only.
N/M, found the DI product page:

methanol just increase the detonation capabilities of gasoline...in other words, when using it, you can add additional timing that you otherwise couldnt.
Thanks for the info guys it's looking more and more like that's the route I'll go. Just as long as it won't blow my car up haha. Still can't believe how much downpipes cost!
theres always the chance if the system malfunctions.
one of the most reliable meth kits on the market: http://www.alkycontrol.com/ (http://www.alkycontrol.com/)

And in the case of the fuel challenged 3.5, it also adds fuel enrichment.
correct, methanol is fuel. which is why you have to be careful with it, if your supplemental fuel system has an issue, you instantly go lean.
What year is your car? 2010-2012 should upgrade brakes to 2013 booster&master cvlinder ,brake pads rotors or any combination of the above as buget allows if ya going to play on the street you gotta Make shure you can STOP!!

if someone put a kit together, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, I hate running around creation to find parts. Lol

Thanks for the info guys I appreciate it! Braking is very important and I can't believe how crapy the brakes are considering how expensive these cars are new. So I'm thinking I'll so the snow stage 2 or 3 meth kit. I also bought a 3 bar map. Then I'll throw on the downpipes and that's prolly where I'll stay off a while. Should I consider doing the sparkplugs too?
You definitely want to do the spark plugs with being tuned
Spark plugs would be at the top of the list regardless of tuned or not. Maintenance > Mod any day. If stock, gap can be set to around 0.035", if tuned, 0.030".
No kit needed just get 2013 booster and master cylinder from ford , rock auto or any parts store 2 pieces only i like oem ford or motorcraft see how to section of forum for part # & pics with instrutions oem part # 2013 power brake booster DG1Z2005D listprice $150.80 purchase $107.39 2013 master cyl #DG1Z2140B IST $111.62 PUR $77.92
So no extra hoses, bolts, washers, etc needed?

Awesome, Keep us posted on your thoughts... did you install the #20100 kit? that's the one I installed. I would also like to know what you are seeing for boost on your tune with the meth.
Cool beans, scoles! How was your experience with the install? Anything of note/anything you'd change?
just picked up the juice today so hopefully ill be playing with it tonight. then i gotta do some data logging so torrie can crank it up.
i didnt install the kit, had a shop do it for me because i figured it would be a cleaner install that way haha

Iis the 2013 booster/master cylinder upgrade that noticeable? I've got EBC stage 4 kit and am VERY impressed already!

Yep... THIS MADE MY NIGHT!!!! Might just order the parts this week!!!! (I have a very serious love/hate relationship with you guys! haha)
TBH, I don't know of anyone that has done BOTH the MC/BB upgrade AND the EBC kit upgrade. So you may not notice a difference, or the difference may be in better consistency/feel, or there may actually be better stopping distances in a consistent fashion. That is still an unknown. Given that, if you are still willing to explore, I will salute and cheer you on :D
UPDATE: well me and torrie have been doing a lot of data logging/tuning. by a lot i mean im on my 11th tune in the last 3 days. i think we are close though! chirped my tires going 45 yesterday so i think its working haha!!!!
tune 12 didnt go so well. car just lunged and jerked me around followed by a flashing CEL :black_eye:

torrie said according to the data the w/m wasn't working. which would make sense. guess ill give it another go tonight :x:
That HAS happened before. Kinks in the tubing, disconnected wiring, etc.
Turned out to be a fried plug! Is that normal for 60k miles?? I needed to upgrade them anyhow. What plugs should I go with?
Torrie recommended these

Always listen to the guy doing the tuning on your car....
thats the plan
plugs should show up today! super excited to be back on the road and thankful for how easy the install is! my last car was an impala ss everything on that car was PITA.
