Looking under my MKS I found the lower nose all scratched up and unfortunately the pass-side was worse. The rocker below the pass-door sills was all loose. Guess I didn't do a very good job when looking this car over before purchasing it!! grrr!
After completely removing the rocker covers I found that the clips stayed in the body and parts had broken off the rocker covers. Luckily with some Epoxy this was an easy fix. I'd say figuring out how to remove the clips without damaging them was the hardest part. The window trim removal tool for my mustang worked well for this.
Body clips can get pretty messy & messed up. Glad you could fix the issues!
Thx for the pics. I assume the SHO is similar. I have 1 loose clip. It's nice to see exactly what I'm getting into.
Very easy fix once removed.
I was a little disappointed with how the bracket was attached to the back of the rocker panel. I guessing they are plastic welded or something like that, not a lot of material holding them on. But,,, on the other hand I'd rather have the brackets break before ruining the rocker!!
It wouldn't have been a problem if the previous owner did drag the entire side of the car over something!!
Thanks for the pics!! Do you have any advice for removing the rocker panels? I plan on removing the passenger side soon because I have some clear coat peeling.
