Check out this article. The front end on this thing, getting weak in the knees looking at it!

That rendering just looks like a stretched fusion without the Aston grill. It's more Fusion ST then Taurus SHO.

The thing has to be 10 feet tall. Look at the size of the wheels relative to the fender height. We don't have nearly that much fender and our car is already tall AF.
Kind of stretched Fusion with a 2014 GT500-esque front end...I like it.
I dig it!
font end is a killer with that bumper, if it is the one. all those spy shots and covered front bumper we saw earlier made it look ugly.
Overall I do love this front clip ...but it has too much Lexus look and I hate where the blue oval is.
I like the look. It has some strong ties to the current s Taurus and fusion. Personally I'm really happy that the oval isn't on the grill. I'm not a fan of the oversized and in your face manufacture emblems that some are using.
I would totally sell my 2014 for the 2016 if this is what it looks like....

tom:
don't mind the oval. love the front but a bear to keep clean. what i don't like is the chrome strip along the bottom. almost no chrome on the car other than window sills & then this big chrome spear out of nowhere, for my 2 cents much better off with out it. the only way it would work is if wheels where black & chrome, not pure black or pure chrome but a combo.
Please please be the next SHO.........I'll gladly part with my '13 for the updated '16!!!
Is this just an artist rendering? Or is that an existing physical concept model?
I like the look. It actually retains similar body lines as the outgoing model. Like the bastard child of Fusion and Taurus.
But it still looks like a very large car. I hope overall exterior dimensions are reduced from the existing body style. Or, if you're going to have such gargantuan exterior proportuins, at least give us a proportionately spaced interior. Why auch a big car with average interior space, I'll never understand.
On the gen 4 they really could have cut a foot out of the trunk to put another foot of leg room in the back and I don't think anyone would complain.

Media reporting a major announcement for the Chinese Taurus on Saturday the 18th. I would hopefully expect some announcement for US model soon after.
I like the even stance, don't look like the ass end is jacked up. It would be nice not to have to change springs for a change.
More pictures of the new Taurus, this time taken in the US.

I saw that today Mark! I wish there were more real life pics. I hope the SHO gets some tasteful features, and won't sit as high as an f150.
Jalopnik's headline is funny. More pics:

I like it (though I'm not sure if I'd get another Taurus to replace my SHO down the road), but I suspect that the fascias will be slightly different in the US vs China.
The styling is similar to like we have currently, except its gone under lipo to get rid of the puffiness the current car has some from some angles from its being on a CUV platform.
In my opinion. It's terrible. It's too bland. It's just a stretched fusion. The rear end is especially bad, the tail lights look like they came off a Jag XF. I'd take a 2015 model over this any day.

Too bland?

And the Fusion thrown in for good measure

IMO the new Taurus doesn't look that different from the current one and improves upon it. Some colors don't show off the lines of the car that well. The rear is slightly boring, but I'm not going to be looking at that most of the time anyways.
If it looks like that I'm telling a new SHO is in my future. I think Taurus is one of the most underrated cars today I think this design gets panned to much by car mags. But if that what the new one looks like count me in.
Loving the new grill, but the rear is like the designers were at work late Friday and said "screw it, slap the Fusion taillights on so we can go grab some beers".
Now if that conceptual drawing of the SHO with the badass front splitter is real, I may forgive them, LOL.
Did anyone notice the non-SHO is getting the 2.7L @ 325hp? Hopefully we're looking at a 400hp+ 3.5L (please dear god make it longitudinal this time) in the SHO.
Don't get me wrong. I do like it, I just wish it didn't have to have the same design language as the fusion. And silver probably isn't the best color to show off a cars design. Hopefully Ford will do something very special for the SHO. Highly doubt it will have a longitudinal engine though.

Hopefully next SHO packs the Raptor's 450HP+ engine and the Focus RT's AWD system. That would be awesome.
Forgot about the trans options. Proper brakes and sport seats options
No more fender badge...I liked it.
Lower grille loses definition now to me also...almost too wide or something.
I do like that the rear 1/4 doesn't seem to be as huge and plain as current models.
Actually a little dissapointed with the look...that could all change with a stout 3.5 setup though.
