Wastegates are internal on these turbos, do you mean Blow Off Valves - BOV?
If so there's a how to in the how to section on doing that, lots of guys VTA with their BOV :)

I've got it done, i love it. BUT**** If you have a warranty, be sure to slap the recirc hoses back on before heading to the dealership. Some people have mentioned their dealerships "master mechanic" saying that voids the warranty or was a root cause of their problem.

Me personally... doesn't make sense because it just dumps air back into the intake (PRE-Turbo side of things)

Oh, internal waste gates. Of course.

When you own a bunch of N/A cars and then finally buy a stock turbo car, you really learn that it's nothing what you thought it would be like.

Electronic Blow off valves and internal waste gates-- Yuck... I wish this car had a V8.

I don't even know how you vent an internal wastegate to atmo?

You guys have to be talking about BoVs... right?

You'd have to make some significant alterations to vent a WG into what is called a dump pipe (VTA)
You'd need to either permanently disable the IWG flapper (weld), and route to an external afternarket gate (and associated plumbing and control), or you could divorce a pipe from the turbine housing at the flapper and just dump that pipe outside of the engine compartment. Very loud. Would be atrocious on such a fine automobile.

Nothing wrong with internally gated turbos. It works fine for smaller units like ours. Internally gated becomes a problem with larger volume. And it can vreate overboosting conditions as the gate can't keep up.

I understand the difficulties of making an internal V2A, that's why I was so upset to hear that (Though not surprised)

To respond to your opinion on the sound in relation to how "fine" our Fords are; I think the only thing that's atrocious is how completely silent this car is and how much power these motors should have.

3 cats, wtf?

Well...I certainly don't disagree with that. Lmao

I guess three cats spells ECO.
