Just picked up a 3BAR from a member on the forum which I installed today and then uploaded the new tune from Torrie. As soon as the car started it threw a code and I knew it was 3BAR related. Looked it up and thought I accidentally recieved a 2BAR. Well, I flashed back to my 2BAR 93 tune and all lights went away, she purred.
So basically, I'm pretty sure I reciebed a 2BAR correct? Looks identical to what I took off as well, down to the numbers.
If it is the same down to the numbers, you most certainly have a 2 bar. The 3 bar should have a different number than the 2 bar. The 3 bar should have something like MOTORCRAFT Part # CX2231 {#AA5Z9F479B} and the 2 bar should be MOTORCRAFT Part # CX2228
The part # I have on my one is CX2231 & AA5Z-9F-479-B on the box and AA5A-9F479-AB on the sensor itself. What part number is on the sensor you got ?
I paid $32.01 for it from my local Ford dealer
The 3bar map sensor always ends with the letter B on the part itself, the 2bar ends with the letters CA at the end of the part itself, hopefully you can get reimbursed, not a good seller in my books, good luck.

It ends in AB. It is exactly identical to my OEM 2BAR which came on the car, also ends in AB. I made note of it when I pulled the OEM one because I had them side by side and thought it was strange.

The 3 bar MAP should indeed have a B on the end, I believe AB is ok, CA (CX2228) is not:

Are you sure you replaced the right sensor, Spartn? You need to replace the one on top of the manifold, not the intake. As noted here by ZSHO:

Agree with SHOdded, you most certainly swapped the sensors out by the TIP,should be swapped out on top of the manifold, the map sensor to replace should end in CA.
This is the one you want to change out

^^All that. Ended up swapping the sensor next to the TIP and did not notice the sensor directly on top of the manifold. That was officially my blonde move of the new year!
Thanks all :)
If it makes you feel any better, that exact error makes up about 80% of all of our 3BAR tech calls.

Haha, immediately after the error I told myself I need to head down to LMS to pick up a 3BAR in the morning! Luckily I woke up to the replies first :chay:

Yup, that TIP sensor is how everyone figured out the correct part # and the correct slope/intercept to use for changing to the 3 BAR MAP sensor in SCT :D
