2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Revealed With EcoBoost V-6 And 10-Speed Auto

As for the V-6, Ford says it will produce more power than the outgoing Raptor's 6.2-liter V-8, which is rated at 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque. It will also have less weight to push around, thanks to the new F-150's aluminum body. Ford says it cuts 500 pounds over the previous Raptor.

Hell yeah, Ford is kicking ass at the Detroit Auto Show.

Sounds like 10 speed is coming for all F-150's in next couple of years.  Is this the tranny GM and Ford are both working together on?

Almost makes me now want to buy a 2015.5 Yukon Denali with the 8 speed.  The 10 speed will probably be out in a few years lol.

It is the 10 speed that Ford and GM created. Pretty interesting to see them work together.

GM probably hid a small part that will fail on ford applications lol.

Ford and GM have been working together on transmission development for a while now. The 6spd auto in our cars was the first result from those efforts.
While not exactly the same, each manf makes their own enhancements and designs their own control modules/software.
