Title: Remote Access module install.
Post by: wasinger3000 on December 30, 2014, 11:20:50 AM
Is there anyone here that has documentation regarding the installation of this item on a 2013 taurus? I'm trying to find where exactly it plugs in at. I know it is somewhere in the rear deck but cannot find any picures of where exactly.

Here is the item. http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/dl3z19a390b

If someone can tell me that the instructions are on www.Motorcraftservice.com I would appriciate it. Id rather not pay for the service unless I know it is there.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go.... the beginning is about wire stripping.. just scroll down the pdf to table of contents on page 10. This is from Ford Service:
http://www.fordservicecontent.com/ford_content/catalog/accessory_files/2013-2014%20Scalable%20Kit_Car%20%206-20-2013.pdf (http://www.fordservicecontent.com/ford_content/catalog/accessory_files/2013-2014%20Scalable%20Kit_Car%20%206-20-2013.pdf)

The iPhone app is free.  The use of the service is a $50/year subscription... but does include some neat features like proximity warning, shock sensor, hood opening alert, and email/text theft alerts.  The reviews seem mediocre. It uses the OBD2 port.

Problem is that is the newer version. I bought the ( DL3Z-19G364-A) kit that goes under the rear deck area I think. I didn't know there was a newer version till after I bought it. But I only paid $217 for it.. any way you have a pdf for that kit? Fingers crossed hah. Thanks!

This is pretty cool. I'd like the smart phone control and a proxy sensor.

Thanks for bringing this up gents, I'll be following the progress.

Unfortunately it isnt. I looked though that and just about every other search related to that part number and I cannot find anything saying where exactly to plug it in. :(

Can I use this if my '13 SHO already has the factory remote start?

This It's not the remote start kit. It's the remote access kit. All 13's come with remote start standard. This just adds the cell phone feature.

Mine will be here tomorrow so I shall see how it goes.

Excellent....keep us posted.  Also, on the ford accessories website it says that the remote access kit "Requires Vehicle Security Kit 19A361 at an additional cost." Did you need this?

Thanks

You bought it from Tasca? Keep us posted on the activations as well....I'm curious if Tasca will support you and activate it for you or if they say just go to your local dealer

Proving more difficult than I imagined to find a dealer that knows how to activate the kit. I have a pdf that explains step by step how to activate but they still don't know how. I've called 13 dealerships in the biggest cities I can think of.

I paid for access and got all the diagrams I needed. It's in and back together. Just need a dealer to activate it. That's where they are not of much help. I have an appointment with a dealer this weekend so I'll see how it goes.

Jeez!... What a hassle you've had. It's a Ford accessory. Just have them call Ford.

I saw a post on another forum where Levittown Supercenter (Ford Dealer on Long Island, NY) was a vendor. They said they sell these and activate them over the phone for people all the time. Maybe they can help you

I've lost hope in all of ford's dealerships. I'm up to 21 called dealers now. Most just say they don't know and we will get back to you. A few try to tell me they need to hook up ids and edit code.. (hah). So this is fun.

Alright... Found someone that knows what to do and it took all but 5 min to get it done. Im glad out of 23 dealerships i called in 16 states there is one man named Alan that knows his stuff.

Heres the contact info for all that wish to have it done.

Marmie Ford Lincoln
620-793-5427

Ask for Alan, if you do not get him leave a message with your contact info and he will call back. Activation cost $50 through the dealer.

They wouldn't ever answer the phone. When someone did I got transfered to service then a lady said "oh you need parts" half way though my sentence and off I went lol.

Sweet, how difficult was the install?

Do you know the difference between the A and B units?

Install is child's play. Just finding all the damn info as to where was a pain. There is a new unit out that T's into the obd port. That is one I have not put in so I cannot say aythihg about it.

Looks easy though.

Glad to hear you got it all worked out....finally!
I'm going to buy it from and have it installed at the dealer just to avoid all the running around you went through. Remote start is great, but I want to start it in the parking garage at work while I'm still sitting at my desk.; factory remote start won't do this

Yeah if I would of know it would be this difficult to find information I would of just let a dealer put it in. Oh well I got it working.
