Title: nitto 555R DOT drag radial
Post by: gad on November 21, 2014, 12:57:45 PM
someone run whith this?, how wide is the OEM rim 20''

the overall diameter oem tire is 28.7 , AND NITTO 275/40R20 is 28.8

I 'd like to know if the tires are properly fit on the Taurus(clear suspention  no friction )

for the flex also , I would like to install too (29.1 overall diameter)

Factory rim is 7.5". shoe Horning  a 275  on that narrow of rim won't give a good tire foot print. The tread will wear out in the middle.

I believe 255 is the widest width to go on a 7.5" wide rim. 275's will fit under the car. Just not on your rims.

Isn't OEM 20x8?  The best known/used widths for the 275's is 9.5 for all around fit or 10 in the rear only.  Maybe you could get away with raising tire pressure above recommended levels on a stock rim to get the tread to wear evenly, but probably not the best you could get from the tire.

That's what I thought for a long time too. That they where 8" but they where measured at 7.5.

I run 275x40x20 all around on 20x8.5 rim buy American racing. I had my dealer put them(275x40x40) on my stock wheel and the tire deformed across the contact packet. Would not recommend using stock wheels with these tires!
