Post by: ZSHO on October 06, 2014, 09:20:25 AM
Added some Redline FI cleaner and filled her up,took her on the highway early Sunday morning and stomped on the pedal to get some carbon out and about close to 140mph had a little vibration, anyone experience that?

Yes, days after purchase I got into a race with a camaro and at 135 the vibration kicked in. Quite scary at that speed. After taking it back to dealer and them checking over front end, nothing. Took my truck to my mechanic and had SHO with us, he noticed right away there was a plug in tire on the sidewall of tire. Took to discount and they said it was wrong kind of plug that wicks water into tire and was lucky it hadn't blown out. No more shake after tire replaced until you hit brakes at that speed. But that's another topic.

1st thing to do would be getting an on vehicle spin balance and then check to see if alignment is spot on .
You also need to check ALL hubs for bearing play AND pitting .
High speed vibration issues can be very difficult to diagnose,

There also MIGHT be the issue with the hood vibrating at those speeds.  At least it was true for 2010, as bpd discovered.  Vibration definitely felt in the steering wheel/tires?

Come on now, plenty of love(no homo) here and I have the same conundrum with my Advancetrak that shuts off at 100 mph.....

FoMoCoSHO could be an ECU issue related to your advance track turning off affecting earlier built models and good luck.

So, kind of a big coincidence, but I laid on it yesterday until 135 mph. I was like, wow. Can't believe this sucker is this smoothe and quiet at this speed. My Speed6, though quite smoothe, roared at those speeds.
I don't typically go balls to the wall like that above 100. 100 is my cutoff. But, I thought I'd see what she is made of.

Anyway, I'm guessing a tire balance might help. At 19 or 20 inch wheel diameter, seems like the sensitivity for centrifugal imbalance would be greater than that of a smaller diameter wheel/tire...
