Decided to take the SHO once again just for the hell of it . This time I had a full tank of gas with a windy 80+ degrees weather . As soon as got there I ran it before I let it cool and ran a 13.2@ 101. Let it cool for about 1 1/2 hrs , Lowered the tire pressure on front tires to 25 . Ran a 12.9 @ 105 mph with a 1.8 60' again a 2010 + camaro SS. Ran it again and managed another 12.9 @105 . I was surprised I ran a 12.9 considering I have a full tank and it was hot . Last time I ran a 12.9 but with 1/8 of gas and 60 degree weather . Also got to weigh the car .

Nice times in the heat and full of gas!
Thanks guys , can't wait till November when cool weather starts making its presence .
Those are some great numbers there, you are going to see better times once you get those DP installed and next time spend 1.75 for a bag of ice prior to getting on the track.
What do you have done to the car? And for cooling it down I am looking into an auxiliary plug for the cig lighter to plug an air mover in and blow air into the engine bay. That's a thought too

Lms 4+ tune , kn drop in filter , catted downpipes , 3 bar and upgraded plugs .
Sounds like a good idea

No , it's in Edinburg TX at the Edinburg Raceway .
Off to the track today . DA is at -975 .
So went to the track yesterday hoping for better times but best time was 12.84 . I would of thought the weather would of helped lower my times . Mods are the same from last time just that I decided to put the Air aid Cai vs drop in kn filter . Also my mph sucked . Any idea anyone ?
On the 12.8 run I ran against a 2014 SS Sedan ..

Lol, I just don't understand how I'm running the same with lower DA and temps 40 degrees less .
Winter fuel?
You spinning more now? If so, maybe a lower rpm launch in the cold.

I'm launching at 2000 rpm, I'm spinning a very little .
No winter fuel .
60' times are working against you. Are you sure the weatherstrip on the CAI is sealing against the hood? Tracking IAT/IAT2 to see heat soak? What tires are you running?

From what I can see its sealing good .
I'm going to get with my buddy to check the IAT .
On both runs the car had cooled down about an hr and went from the pit directly to the staging lane without any wait .
So I decided to go to swap the Air aid Cai and put the stock intake with kn drop in before going to the track yesterday. Only got to run it once . Ran a 12.88 @ 106.9 MPH . Picked up 3 MPH from two weeks ago . DA was around the same. Can't seem to break the 12.8 mark .
Proves that the stock intake is strong :) How many miles on your SHO? Octane? May be time to try the 4X tune, and change the PTU fluid if not already done.

I currently have 72k on the clock. Using 93 octane tune . Already using 4x tune . Will be changing PTU fluid soon
I'm in Texas as well, seems it sucks our cars slower down here? I have 3 bar map sensor, 170 degree t-stat, & stage 4 tune from Torrie. Took it out & ran a 8.6 @ 81 mph. All day. Mid 80's temps. Took it back in low 60's and ran an 8.5 with same mph. Wtf? Went to 1/4 mile ran a 13.4 mid 80's. Took it back in 50 degree weather ran a 13.2 @ 104 mph. Not sure if those are good or not but I hoped for better in the cooler weather. I still need to datalog the car though, I don't know how much hat will help either?
data logging does help a lot for most users.
Did you ever change your plugs?preferebly recommended are the MC-534 GAPPED bet 0.28-0.30,what rpm were you launching?remove engine cover, quarter tank of gas,and play around with tire psi,26f-28r preferably.

What octane are you running? Do you have winter gas down in TX? Launching at 2,000 rpm? Does your SHO feel sluggish at any point?
What are you 60ft times?
