I've got two kids and often load up more. I'm looking at an Explorer Sport (ExSport) to replace my F-150 EcoBoost, but I want to hear some of your praise/complaints. I'm leaning towards the ExSport since I can get a tune from Unleashed and use my SCT X4 with it. Anyone running said tune? I also like the Durango R/T and SRT8 Jeep. I realize these aren't apples to apples comparisons, but I need AWD and like the 7 passenger, but those SRT8 Jeeps are nasty. I'd love to hear some comments.
Can't go wrong with a Durango R/T or Explorer Sport. No HID headlights in the XSport pisses me off. 2015 finally is getting a heated steering wheel.
I'm personally waiting for a slightly used 2015.5 Yukon XL Denali to get in the low $50's. Will need to wait another year.
I absolute love everything about my XSport...
But then again, I also small fortune on all the upgrades and goodies... I just couldn't say no...

Not sure if the Sport is different, but my wife's 2014 Limited has a heated steering wheel. I thought the Sport did as well, but it's been awhile since I've looked at one.
The Sport gets shafted. No HIDs, no rain sensing wipers, no lane keeping. I'm pretty sure heated steering wheel is now an option for 2015. The HIDs one really pisses me off for a $50k car.

Weird, our limited has HIDs from the factory?

Yes and rain sensing wipers are an option on the Limited. Just doesn't make sense their top of the line Sport gets shafted, good job Ford!
It's kind of the same deal with the Edge. I think they wanted to have 2 top of the line vehicles, one a plush/comfort ride, and the other a sporty looking/sporty acting ride.
The HIDs are a must for me, I would be taking those apart in no time and doing a retro. Hey think of it this way. It forces you to put in a decent set of projectors. The ones on our explorer are laughable compared to the ones I have in my SHO now.

We've only had our 2015 for a couple of weeks but we love it! Runs great, easy to drive, plenty of room for us. No mods yet but hopefully soon. A friend of mine has an SRT8. It's a really nice car as well. I think it ran mid 14's out here at Bandimere. Not sure what the Sport will do yet...tune or no tune. Hopefully just a little bit better than that. lol!
Take a ride in a Flex, much bigger inside and same capabilities.
we love our Xsport. No issues, 29K miles.
Ours has 8k on it and I would not change anything - well except maybe a tune and some dp's like the SHO. But so far the Wifey likes it stock, we shall see!!!
We love our 2014 Xsport. We upgraded from a 2012 Explorer XLT 2/3'rds of the way through our lease on that car.
Some random thoughts about the car in no particular order
-The power is very nice to have. We take 6 to 8 long road trips a year (800 to 1700 miles round trip to see family) and being able to pass quickly and safely is important to me. The 60 to 90 on this car is awesome all things considered
-gas mileage is the same as our old XLT, 93 octane costs about a starbucks drink extra every fill up, but thats no big deal (15 city/21 hwy on avg)
-The most direct competition to the car is the Dodge Durango R/T and Acura MDX... my wife and I both preferred the Ford to either vehicle.
-We love all the gadgets and features of the car. MFT, dual panel moonroof, heated/cooled seats, remote start.
-We have the Ruby Red paint and the Red/Black combo gets tons of compliments and looks awesome
I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have. Overall it's a great family vehicle. My wife and I both get Automotive ADD and tire of vehicles quickly. We've had this for about a year and can't think of anything we rather have instead which is the true testament of how much we like this car. We lease my wife's vehicle and if the residual holds up on this car we will probably buy the lease out when its up and keep the car. I'm already thinking about something different than my SHO and I've only had it 6 months, but man, we love the Xsport.
I'm pretty sure the 2015 xsport gets the power fold third row. I saw one at my dealer.

Yep, power fold third row, heated steering wheel and body colored door handles. Oh, and the tow package is standard now too.
