Anyone have a boot leek coming from the turbo near the firewall ?.. I am hearing loud leak squeal coming from there and have oil on my hand when feeling the hose connected to the end of the hot pipe
man that blows hard core.. i just loaded a lms tune for the first time took the car for a spin and at a light i took off good but not wot and even got a quiet squeal at second gear then it sounded kinda like my vta blow off valve just stuck open and then it started running like crap and a loud sucking sound now.. i returned back to stock and it is still there... is there any thing i could or should do ..maybe pull the stock hot pipes off and inspect for leaks or should i return my car back to stock with no vta or airaid and take to dealer to inspect
I would recommend checking all your connection on turbo piping. Might be a simple fix, hose probably slipped off.
i am guessing that i will need to remove the pan cover under the car to inspect the hose's to the turbo's ? is there a how to on this ?
Not sure if there's a how to.
You can see the front from the top but its buried down their.
It would be much easier to do it from below, you will need to remove the lower engine cover.
Check everything up top first. If nothing is loose or obviously wrong then move below.
Its much easier to access the firewall side turbo from the bottom. You will be able to see the hot pipe. It most likely came off from the extra boost.
If you are not comfortable putting the car up on jacks etc., return to stock and take the SHO in to the dealer. Still under warranty. Good time to tell them to check for oil in turbo as well.
I purchased a set of rhino ramps, very quick and easy access for getting under the car, like SHOdded and GLOCK-coma mentioned, and i also did was to get a small 8mm wrench socket, when the car is cold, remove top cover and stick your hand by the firewall between the bov and oil sep,you will see the hose in the bottom, mine was fairly loose,i guess thats why the hardpipes come with t-bolt clamps, and you also mentioned oil, what color,if its brown it could be your rear valve cover gasket,if its clear its the boost leak.
I fixed it !.. It was a hose that came disconnected under the car kinda by drivers side tire.. I just jacked the car up and there it was ,the hose clamp was extremely hard to get to and tighten but i got it the best i could.. Now i know if it happens again where to look.. Thanks to everyone who suggested what i should do.. it gave me some assurance that it was probably just a hose disconnected and you all was right .. Thanks again !.. now time to go flash my sweet tune from LMS again
Sweet! Nothing like a quick and easy fix!
Post a new thread about your tune and impressions.
Boost leaks make Turbo cars very sad
Awesome!
Sweet!! Glad it was an easy fix.
Glad to hear that, especially in hot weather contributes to heat soak, causing the clamps to get loose, checked mine a while ago and mostly all of them were fairly loose, good luck, feels good when you fix it yourself.
