Title: Busy with the dip!
Post by: jtoddk98 on May 22, 2014, 03:46:44 PM
I did my rims, grille, and rear trim so far. What do you think? I did black with glossifier.

Looks great. I'm planning to do the same but will also cover the Ford emblem and get some tint film on the tails.   Thank you for your photos

Looks good  .... but I would seperate the ecoboost from the SHO lettering and leave just SHO .
It's kinda of a PITA , others have done it and I think it would look better . IMHO

How did you do that? Just a lot of taping? It looks good. I wish I would have done that on my car.  To late now

Looks really good. I have thought about going this route but as long as the dealership will warranty my tails again I'm going to hold off for now.

Only taping I did was on the grill, rest of parts pop off and on easily. Except for the trunk lettering.

So did you pull the rear badges off to paint? And then put back on?

Didn't have to pull any badges off. Plasti dip peels perfectly around edges and seams. Heres what it looked like taped up. The dip over the ford emblem just peeled right off around the seam.

I'm thinking about getting the SHO hood stripes and twin turbo decals. The ones bpd1151 has on his car. Should I?

Would definitely add a sporty character to the hood.

Yes, the lettering/badges were definitely the hardest part to do.

Yes, immediately after you finish the LED surrounds.

Did u paint the grille or some shop?

I would just worry about the stripes fading in the Florida sun, then taking them off to reveal the good paint underneath outlining the slightly lighter paint on the rest of the hood. Kind of like the older box trucks that have had the decals removed.
