Title: Any way to remove paint from headlamp lens?
Post by: MeanKS on May 22, 2014, 08:16:10 AM
i had my headlamps painted.  i told the guy i only wanted them a little darker like a smoke color.  but, they went too dark imo.

i didn't get a chance to talk to the service manager yet, and i've already had them redo some blacking out of chrome already so i don't want to be a PITA to them unless necessary.

Basically i want to know if its possible to remove paint from the lens before i go in and complain.

anyone have experience with this kind of thing?

Wet sand and re-clearcoat.

On my other vehicle had my car in the body shop and had some overspray allover the windshield and lenses,i used mothers paint and oxidation lens remover,it comes in a package with a cleaner, polisher and a small very fine sandpaper, purchased on amazon, just make sure to follow the instructions and your good to go.
