I just ordered this from Amazon ... looks promising .
I want to use A 10" Android for Torque since I all ready have a Samsung Tab 2 10.1 , I thought I'd give it a whirl .
They make one for the 7" Tablets too.
I'm going to try it on the passenger far left dash area .....

I remember seeing someone with a flex using a similar mount with good results.
Seems in the way and doesn't mount on SHO/MKS center in any pics on either link.. but the mount itself looks fine. Let's see what it looks like when you're done.

Crashs POD is going in the center.
I won't use this in the center , I'm going to try it on top of the far left side of the passenger dash area angled towards drivers side
. If you look at Mfg pics , most of the tablet and mount will " drop " below the dash and still allow for the glove box to open . It swivels up and down and right to left as well .
I just don't want anything attached to Windshield for a mount .
I figured it was worth a shot , if I don't like it I'll return to Amazon ; they cover return shipping .
Just looked at ad on Amazon. This one came up too. And includes phone holder.

The first link is nice... touch screen of car and tablet stay functional, within easy reach, and nothing to mar visible areas of console or dash... or in my case block a center pod ... hmmmm
I thought I would let you guys know of my new setup too. I saw SwampRat post this right after I had bought my stuff.
I ended up going with this Arkon dash tablet mount. It is spring loaded to hold on to the tablet and does quite well at it. Takes a bit of work even with two hands to take it in and out of the holder. I had looked at the one SwampRat posted but with the price of the smaller one and some bad customer service reviews, I passed on it.

And for the tablet I am using the new Nexus 7 (2013). I decided on the new version just in case I feel like using the track recorder since this does have a camera on the back side unlike the previous Nexus 7. Although the video could get a little shaky since the mount isn't super sturdy being it has such a long arm.

And finally I also got one of the cheap OBD-II bluetooth adapters to. Supposedly it is hit and miss with these, but mine seems to be working just fine.

Attached should be a couple pictures of the setup installed in the car. I was able to mount it in the same location that SwampRat was looking to as well and sits over the edge of the dash on the passenger side. And one of the pictures shows it from roughly the drivers position. The tablet is small enough and mounted lower enough it doesn't really block any of my view. I am a little taller so that kind of helps me, but it may vary from person to person and how it is mounted. I did used the supplied mounting disk to stick to the dash as I've hear of problems with it leaving dimples on the dash.
But all and all I am very happy with it after at least the couple days I've had it along with it being on a road trip.
On a side note, just make sure you know your state laws on video screen restrictions. I was warned when talking to a guy at Best Buy about this and though I'd check on it myself. I've found that it doesn't appear there are any laws here in Iowa to prevent me being able to do this, but it could be different where you live. Thought I'd give a couple pages showing some of the rules by state. :policeman:

Can't wait to see what you do with your setup too SwampRat with the larger tablet!
(I apologize if this ends up being a double post)
Quick update got the dash mount but I'll only use it as a temporary solution but with only me driving .
It looks good and is fairly sturdy while driving and does not obstruct your vision .
The problem that was brought to my attention by my fiancee is that with the way it drops down below passenger dash area it would Present itself as a hazard if the Airbag were to deploy .
A 10" tablet hurling itself towards a passenger by airbag deployment not too woopie ...
Yes one could disable the passenger airbag , but that's not a really good choice if Someone is sitting there .
Oh well considering other options .

If I'm not mistake the dash flips up for deployment so the tablet would get shot at windshield. Just FYI
Sent from my mobile, I think.

Ok .. dead tablet versus mangled fiancee ..... I guess I need to dig a little more to make sure .
