Title: Getting a light thump on light acceleration
Post by: bykr on March 20, 2014, 12:07:47 AM
Seems to be a powertrain issue not suspension related coming from the mid to rear part of the car.Makes a light thump when taking off and occasionally when hitting a low speed sharp bump.Never makes the sound when at speed.Going to take it in soon to have the dealer take a look, any ideas? 2010 SHO

If it is powertrain related, either the support on the driveshaft is loose/worn, or the RDU needs fluid replacement.  IMHO.  Favoring the ds support at this point.

There are several TSB related to this. I believe the latest involves some valve body modifications and updated ECM program.

Thanks for the ideas guys. The Driveshaft support bearing sounds very likely-I'll have them take a look.
