I was asked in another thread to introduce myself, so here I am.
I have a 2010 Lincoln MKS. So far, it just has an AirRaid intake, and SCT tuner w/ 93 octane tunes. I just ordered the 3 bar map sensor last week, and I'm going to pick up a 170 degree thermostat and some new 3 bar tunes from Torrie this week. Just changed out the plugs to the newer SP534's at .030" yesterday.
The car is lowered on H&R springs and sports some 19" Ace Alloy anthracite wheels. Windows are tinted and I had all the window trim done in gloss black while having the emblems done in anthracite to match the wheels.
I've already learned a lot from this forum, as I've been using it and shoforums (and some emails with EcobrickBob) as an excellent knowledge base to help me make the right decisions for this car.
You guys know a ton about these cars and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I appreciate all the hard work, the how-to's and the R&D you guys have done and are doing on these cars. I found the answer to pretty much every question I had before I had to ask. The answers to virtually everything is in these forums somewhere.
The Stainless Works cat-less down pipes and one of Torrie's methanol kits are next on the list. Just need to get some little warranty issues taken care of this week before I do anything that might catch a tech's attention.

Welcome from the Great White North !!!
Welcome!!! MKS looks great, love the anthracite color!!!
Welcome
Welcome to the forum. Wow..what a sinister looking MKS - not your Grandpa's car anymore!
Your MKS is sick! How tough was it for the paint to adhere to the fake Chrome? I'm thinking about doing my entire front grill body-color. I would of course bring it to a body shop, but I am just wondering how difficult it is to get it to stay.
:WELCOME: Glad you've joined us. Sounds like you are off to a great start! Hope you enjoy both the car and your time here.
Welcome aboard EBPF! :hi:

Gentlemen, thank you very much for the compliments and the warm welcome. I'm really enjoying this car. I still have sports cars and sport bikes, but I've never really had a fun daily driver. It seemed like there was always a compromise. If it was really fast, it was rear wheel drive (which is terrible in the snow) and got terrible gas mileage. If it got good gas mileage, it was slow and uninspiring. With the potential these cars have, I think I've finally found an every day car that can be an actual joy to drive.
I've looked into the PPE downpipes. They were comparably priced to the Stainless Works and I think 4drhotrod can get either one. Seems like they're both really similar. And I'll probably go with Torrie's meth kit so I can use Torrie's tunes. Just seems like that would be the right thing to do. I'm going to have him send me a 170 thermostat this week also.
Believe it or not, all of the trim and emblems are just plastidipped right now. I just wanted to see how it would look blacking everything out. But after we finished, I decided it didn't need to be painted by a body shop. The plastidip has held up exceptionally well. I've only had one small issue with the plastidip on a place where it started to peel (likely because I pulled a bit of it up when I pulled up the masking tape). It took a long time for it to start to come up, but we just peeled it off and reshot it. No more problems. It made it though a nasty Kansas winter and still looks great.
Welcome, nice looking ride! The anthracite wheels work well with the black paint color scheme :thumb:

No. I did do the front Lincoln emblem in anthracite, but left the grill itself alone for now.
A little bit of chrome doesn't bother me, like the small strip along the bottom of the doors, the little bit on the handles and the little bit on the slats of the grill. Everything else had to go, though.
A little chrome goes a long way. The only chrome I have now is on the emblems and the grill. I think it's just right.
Looks great!
Thanks for joining
That's a great looking MKS. You've already done several of the appearance mods that I have planned for mine. A painter friend of mine will hopefully be spraying my grille in Tuxedo Black within the next couple weeks. Other than that, I've been contemplating using Plasti Dip metallic anthracite to coat my wheels until I decide what route to take. The chrome trim is also on my list. It's funny that Bruce referred to your MKS as sinister. I have a build thread titled "Project: MKSinister". :D
i love it! very well done!!!
