Title: DJE624 0-100
Post by: DJE624 on March 06, 2014, 09:45:34 PM
Just got back from Mexico.  Here is a 0-100 video I did down there.  Just hit 100 and 4th gear about the same time. Sorry about the quality.  It's my first try.  Toro! :clown:

About a week ago.  It's kind of hard to single out since I did the stat and pipes too.  I think overall, the car runs much better.  Cooler, more exhaust flow and smoother timing and fuel mixture.  It is definitely a treat to drive!

I also did the plugs recently.  It's been kind of hard to test with crummy roads but it is powerful and smooth.

is the 3bar helpful if not running meth?  Get it to the track so I know if I want to do the 3bar.

It won't be a fair comparison.  I added the non-cat down pipes, 160 Stat, SP534s, (lighter wheels(?) and lighter driver) and 3 Bar all since the last time I was out.  But I do feel the 3 Bar is worth it.  You can find them around $100 +- , pop it in like nothing and tune for it.

Btw, with all these changes, I am dying to see how deep I can get into the 12's.  There's not really anymore performance mods left for me.  This year!

I'm waiting to see what you run.  I've got the down pipes, your 170, SP534's, and a K&N typhoon.  The 3bar and a revised tune would be the difference.  I'm hoping you go atleast 12.7's.

Nice video and great run! On a cold day, if the track is well prepped and you can get traction (sometime an issue with lighter wheels), I would think you could get 12.7-12.9..
The downpipes can help you for about 0.1-0.2 imo. The Eibach aren't launching as fast as HR springs and aerodynamics are better too with HRs.
I remember running a best of 12.61, with non-PP stage 4+ with no downpipes but with HRs. That was with tailwind on a cold day with no traction issue launching 60ft of 1.80-1.84...
With meth with that same car I lowered that time to 12.09.
So, meth is really the mey to bring it to the next level.
I calculated your 0-100 in around 12-12.5 seconds.
With meth you'd cut a good 3 seconds!
Thanks for posting!

Sounds great!

I find the top end performance pretty meh in the SHO.

Do you find that your tune fixes this issue?

I have a little extra boost above 5K  (per custom tune) but I still wish third would climb like second.  That would be the icing!

BTW, I am making arrangements to visit LMS next month to get another dyno.  Then we'll see what all the additions have done compared the Stage 4+ tune only.

I too find that the first two gears are pulling hard but it is after that I would like more power... But drivetrain loss and weight arr playing against us... Good luck with the dyno at LMS... Both times I went, they either didn't touch a thing from the canned tune or the second time, when I ask for an aggressive tune back in May 2013, they didn't have enough time. For me it is 20 hours drive each trip. I don't know for you, but talk to them before to see if it is worth the trip.
Good luck buddy! You sure diserve to break deep in the 12's!
But looking back at your video above, it sounds good, but it seems to me a bit slow for the third gear... Almost like stock but with a better sound... Maybe then a visit will improve that...

Yep.  Windows up.  All sound from in front of the dash.

I'm probably about 6 hours from LMS.  It will be worth it to see the guys and dyno on the same machine.  A little more tweaking wouldn't go unappreciated either.

Can you say  , bury the speedo in nothing flat ?  Way better top end pulling power !

Definitely anxious to see what LMS get on the dyno.... and any tweaks they make!

If business is good, I might just pop for a full on Dynotune.  IIRC they run $395.  But if Dan wants to tweak it some more for free, I'll take that too!
