Good luck and absolutely.... AWD or not..... no flip'n hot dog'n!

We ALL want you to arrive safely.

I spoke with my old man yesterday, and he even warned me to be careful heading up when I do next week.

Said there was lots of snow on the ground, etc. etc. in MI.

So get back and forth safely and save all that spirited driving for better conditions. Even if it may kill you to restrain yourself after the newly acquired custom dyno tuning is installed.

The weather is good in MI today, just cold. We haven't had much if any snow the last few days so you should find dry highways and main roads.

Parked next to a Soul Red Gen III Mazda 6 too. Such a beautiful, ball less car.

Safe travels!

That ball less car is my girlfriends. Yea it doesn't have much power but it has a great transmission that helps make up for it and is a great overall driving car. We end up taking it more if we are doing a lot of backroad driving. Very fun to drive. And we are getting 35 mpg on this trip with winter tires on.

No regrets!

I wasn't trying to be insulting in any way. I'm familiar with the car. I'm a huge Mazda fan. Hell, I bought my wife a CX-5.

In fact, had Mazda released the S-D oil burner on schedule, I'd be driving one right now.
I adore the new 6.

I can not wait for that diesel either. The amount of TQ that thing has and MPG combined with the drive ability they all talk about with the 6 platforum.

I really like the looks of the new 6 but they really cut the power down last year.  Too bad.

Was a stupid move to do away with the 3.7 liter option the 6 had

The car is inline for tuning, but we had to button up some mechanical items with the car to prep it for the dyno first. She will be on as soon as the dyno frees up though.

Atleast I'm getting updates from someone!

Well I suppose I'll post up an update.

I had to get a new oxygen sensor put on (thru a code on the drive up, ended up putting both up streams on for consistent reading) and of course get  the 3 bar swapped out when I got there. It had to get rescheduled for tuning at that point. Right before tuning it was realized the meth wasn't working correctly with the signal wire tapped into the factory sensor. The standalone map sensor was installed and that fixed the problem.  It was rescheduled again for tuning.

The car finally got on the dyno April 7th. Currently it is still being tuned. A loose t-bolt caused some delay also trying to figure out why it wasn't making a clean pull. Apparently with upgraded turbos and applying the V8 tune everything needed started from scratch.

I'm going to keep it around 400whp. I talked to Dan and they have seen a few broken rods on cars making 430ish+. Upon teardown it was found to be a rod failure alone and not tune/fuel related. Being that this is my DD I don't feel like replacing the motor. TQ should be very good so I might still end up knocking on 11's door. It sucks being told "with this setup you can make pretty much whatever you want to" but holding it back to a reasonable level. Better safe than sorry!

I'm ready to have this car back. It's coming up on 3 months.

Picking up the car Saturday.

I don't feel like I've told anyone anything untrue regarding my car's time at Livernois.

There have been a few minor issues but mostly it was a waiting/rescheduling game and a lot of time to get it tuned correctly.
