I have a 10' SHO. The T-Shifter is starting to loosen up. It wiggles around a little but. What's most concerning me is that it will slightly rotate about an axis that goes straight down through the handle, in a circular motion. It seems to be getting worse. Any ideas or suggestions on how to "tighten" up the shifter?

You have to work the chrome trim ring and boot down. Then you will see a couple of screws.

I don't think there's a chrome trim ring. But I will check it out and post back. Thanks.

You bet. Good luck!
Finally got around to tightening the screws on the shifter. Thanks for the help, it feels like a brand new shifter.

Great! Glad you did it. I half heartedly tried to pull that trim ring down once and it seemed to be on there pretty good!

The back side of the trim ring came down fairly easily. The front side was more stubborn. I was afraid of breaking it. But grabbing the "leather" just under the ring on the front and back sides and working it down got it. I also had it in neutral. Then it pops right back into place.
