So I had the H+R lowering springs installed before the weekend and am just getting to driving the car today. First off from a looks standpoint, this is how the car should have come from the factory. The stance just looks so much more buttoned down and I am not missing the huge wheel gap that was over the rear tire. I have a little concern for how close the front rides to the ground, but at least Ford was smart enough to make the lower portion of the clip out of rubber instead of hard plastic.
Secondly the handling is definitely a lot stiffer than stock, which is a plus and a minus. On the positive side the vehicle definitely feels more solid during high speed corners and more reactive to input from the wheel. Negatively, I now feel every bump on the road and there is a lot more road noise. I honestly can live with this trade-off, but it is fair to say that this change in personality may not be for everyone.
I think your right on the money. Looks are better, handling is better, but it does hit a little harder and some more noise.
But I'm with you, not even a question... I would do it again every time..
Is your alignment still within spec or did you also have the alignment kit installed? Interested in finding out because my lowering springs may be in my stocking this Christmas!!

Johng adds to my info, and we now have what I would say is the "easy" way to get it all done. Use the stock adjustments before buying anything. If you do it the way johng shows, you should be A-OK on alignment with rear camber. Brilliant solution.
The alignment went right back to factory specificatons.
Thanks for the review. I looked at both options and ultimately went with Eibach. Sometimes I think I would have liked the extra half inch drop the H&Rs offer but overall, I'm happy with what I have. Anything to get rid of that gaping maw in the rear well! I have tapped the rubber in front a couple times.

Dave, not sure what you mean about "tapping the rubber in the front", but if you are talking about scrapping the front lip spoiler, I do that with the stock springs everytime I pull out of my driveway and it isn't steep at all...plus the lower look does look great, just with my bad knees, I'm afraid it would make getting in and out of the car just a bit harder for me, but the look is much better.
Yeah Mark, That's what I meant. I just very lightly scraped the rubber a couple of times. The Eibach's drop 3/4+- in front and 1 1/4+- in back. I think the back drop kinda makes the front drop not so deep way up front leveling off the car.
How much more road noise is there? I hadn't considered that stiffer/lowered springs would cause more road noise.
Is the increased noise mostly on the highway or also around town?

no increase in road noise. experienced my me. If alignment hasn't been corrected after installing, then maybe more noise.
I'm planning on finally installing some H&R springs next week . Will there be any rubbing issues with oem tires ? Any pics with these springs anyone ? Thanks

I had H&R's on my previous G35 and loved them.
Not going to lower my SHO I got tired of scraping on everything in my daily driver, plus my wife drives my cars here and there and she doesn't know how or care to go over stuff at an angle.
My PP suspension rides stiff too adding bigger / softer Nitto tires really helped reduce the harshness but lost some higher speed cornering confidence as a trade off with the taller / softer sidewall.
Oh man, if I could have the looks that the springs provide with the same ride, I would definitely do it. I have had several lowered vehicles, and unfortunately I consider myself too inflexible now to deal with the harshness that is unavoidable with lowering. That, and in winter I would be plowing the road with my bumper.
The looks though, man so nice.

Coilovers would be the best route then.
I think my h&r's ride fantastic. There is a difference between firm and harsh.
H&Rs are a tad stiffer, but I have zero harshness. I couldn't be happier with them.
I like the ride 99% of the time with the H&R springs. Agreed they are not harsh, maybe 20% firmer than stock PP setup. My only gripe is when you hit a larger bump or pot hole. Then you really feel it. But that can't be helped.
