I am searching for black badge overlays for my 13 SHO. I have found quite a few eBay auctions selling them, but I want to make sure I get the right size. I don't know if there's a difference in the SHO badges and the base Tauruses, or even a difference between 10-12 and the 13 SHO's. The website I got my Explorer Sport overlays in the UK doesn't have Taurus badges, so I'm SOL there.
Have any of you 13's gotten overlays? If so, where did you get them from and do you have a link?
Billet Badges - check there first

I found those same ones online from the UK and I would love to get those for my taurus. I believe the taurus badges are the same size as the smaller one that is included in the explorer set sold by the UK company. I was hoping they might sell 2 of the smaller overlays.
You might check with DJE624... He didn't have good luck with overlays. :( Unless you have a blue oval with a back-up cam init you may have better luck with Billet Badges. You get what you pay for. :smartass:
I did buy some white overlays last summer. The black ink on them was all runny and they were about 1/16th too small. They did take them back for a full refund. I asked about getting some black ones from the guy last month or so. He said he didn't have the right size at the time. Maybe after the holidays. The only way to be sure it's the right size is to measure them height and width, contact the maker and verify. You can stretch them a little. I'm gonna try again after the holidays.
is there anyway to get a black ford symbol?
Most overlays have that option/version and so does Billet Badges in metal with paint fill
which one fits the front grill on the 2014 SHO? and i guess is it easy to replace?
The only safe way to do it is measure them and contact seller. You might have to have them specially made to size. Measure for the stickers so that they will just cover all the blue.
I hope this pains out as that Ford blue on the logo needs to be cut down a bit.
... Or have Billet Badges send a whole front oval with color only and letters/logo of your choice!
I've been thinking lately of just leaving mine alone. After all, it is "The Blue Oval". And, it doesn't clash with white like it does with other colors.

I've always throught that it really doesn't even clash with my red car...but I would consider a Ford overlay in red....I don't want any more SHO on my car..heck, it says SHO on the vents, SHO on the C-pillar, SHO on the trunk lid, and SHO on the hood stripes...that's enough already! :french:
LOL Talk about brand identity!

Ya' What DJ said!
I'll only have 8 SHO logos on the car
IF I do caliper covers..... But I'd like the Ford oval with black inlay for the color scheme I've got
I just like to debadge my cars as much as possible and removing the blue oval would help. I am actually really surprised that it turned out that I liked the look of the SHO emblazoned vents.
I removed the badge from my grille and whenever it warms up ill be debadge the rear of the car.
Billet Badges also makes a rear logo with the camera mount... the spear could be a problem though.
Billet Badges will custom make a Rear Oval Badge with Camera for the 2013 + SHO. I have contacted them with Measurements but have decided to hold off awhile ... I want to delete the spear first. ... Gonna be a little pricey because I will need to get a body Shop to weld in a fill plate and refinish paint the trunk. .... Then figure out How to Modify the taillight area that the spear fits into on each taillight .......
On my Mod list. .... just gonna be complicated
I Hate the spear....
beck-painting it black would be a lot less cost & would go well with your scheme. that's what i thought of doing. today saw where i came up with the TT for the back i told you about, it was the audi james bond used in the one movie, saw a red one today. it looked good!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering... How are you going to manage the indent in the portion of the tail light on the trunk where the spear goes there?
Cheaper yes. ...... But NO Spear for me
The only way to do the tail light and make it look right would be to have a new custom lens made.
Possibly cut spear ends and paint or an epoxy fill and paint ... RED .... Not sure yet though ...
This is what you'd have to deal with on a 13.

Nasty!!!! :yuk: Maybe you need a way to modify the end of the spear over the light so it looks like it belongs there....
Tailight fill or Mod will be a pain.... .. I am aware of clips on taillight area ...
Doing a body color on the spear would look good IMO. It would be interesting to see on a non black Sho.
