Title: Cleaning Intercooler
Post by: ShoBoat on April 02, 2014, 09:52:30 AM
Hey Guys,
I find myself wanting to clean my IC, have any of you done this? I have searched around google and found all kinds of ways to clean the IC. From Sea Foam to Simple Green and Gasoline. I even read someone dunked it in a bathtub lol. If someone on the forum has done it with sucess I'd be interested in it. After reading all the stuff floating around about how much blow by gets into the induction system and my recent oil over fill. I believe that I should do it. A brand new intercooler from Ford is $268.00, so it's not crazy money. But eventually I will have to clean that one too even with a good catch can system.
Thanks

Unfortunately the IC is no small job to remove, radiator, A/C condenser and IC all have to come out together. From my understanding this isn't a easy job.

Thanks Crash, crap that's what I thought. I wonder if there is a way to clean it in place? I'll have to look into that, or if someone has any ideas?
