HAHAHAHA... description is great... "Just be aware this is a no *** zone, discussions of that company or their tunes equals immediate removal from the group."

I know I don't see many here anymore.

I don't and won't ever have facebook so I have no idea what's going on over there.

idk i kinda enjoy the separation. much less educated discussion ON FB.just a ton of misinformation and every newbie asking "quickest way to get a SHO to 11's!?" lol. kinda disgusting sometimes

I personally dislike facebook for any kind of actual information.. jokes.. bs... flamewars...is about all you see on those...

These forums provide a much needed area where MATURE (mostly.. heh) conversation happens and you can ask questions and get answers without being beat to Sh*t over it.

Point and case... when I was having issue with my tune there were A LOT of people here willing to help with FACTUAL and GOOD information which eventually resolved my issue... chances on that happening on facebook? About exactly zero.. none...nadda...

And people are too nit picky on facebook... do we really need to go down that path of "its frees up power" vs "it adds power"...and get all pissy about it? The answer is no...

I greatly appreciate Mike opening up a group on Facebook and the effort to keep a good community going.. I just feel like actual good information gets lost in all the BS on FB..
Forums are awesome, much better than The Book of Face...IMHO..

If FB could organize the knowledge repository, it would be worth moving to.  And the admin tools are really basic.  Does make a decent discussion platform though.

Would it be worth losing all the folks like me that have no interest in having social media in our lives?

LOL.... thats a setup statement if I have ever read one...so many smarta$$ comments... so little time....

In short... it would be a HUGE loss if we moved this forum to facebook.... like Shodded said.. if there was a way organize topics it would help... otherwise... its just going to be a mess...

Messages by courier.  Then messages by the post office.  Messages via EMail.  Messages via Bulletin Boards.  Messages via forums.  Social media progresses.  Everyone has to decide what is the right speed for them.

I am firmly in the FORUM camp, but I see the attraction of FB for people asking the questions, not so much for people who have to answer them LOL.

I'm not shutting down the forums, they're not going anywhere, some people like the ease of facebook, some people like forums. By having both we can forward people to the forums for how-to and other articles, it's a win/win.

You say that now.  I recently closed the local mustang forum I ran for 12 years.  We had over 1k members with 150 or so active weekly.  This past year, tumbleweeds.  I needed to upgrade the software for an SQL update and the cost was like $400.  I wasn't going to do it again so it's dead.  Everyone uses the FB group I created.  It sucks horribly because you can't break things down into sections.  So it's a pile of garbage from an admin point of view.

Good, FB is a pile of infant diarrhea when it comes to getting any type of intelligent response to tech questions.

Yes yes, you are loose with your women.

Or used to be.

Back on topic, I hear more and more how people dislike and/or despise FB.

I'm sure there'll be a lull in forum activity across the board, but I would say, for all the (positive) reasons people have pointed out here, that forums will come back around as it relates to activity/visits/involvement.

I run a few FB groups, we're at 200+ members with a decent amount of activity after just starting a couple of weeks ago for the EBPF group, my Raptor Gen 2 group is at 700+ members with 20 to 30 joining daily and TONS of activity. I like forums for a repository of information but if you want active interaction then FB is where it's at. Just a sign of the times.

I like both. I find that the forums get into some deeper and technical topics than FB. FB is great for the quick answer. Im glad both are sticking around. Maybe oneway FB would have a forums style area and then that would truly be a game changer.

For information/technical, I much prefer forums. That said, Facebook has it's benefits when it comes to ease of use and quick responses.

I have never had a Facebook account nor do I plan to. My wife is the exact same way. And no I'm not 75 years old either I'm 38. If the forums go away I guess I'm on my own and guessing a lot lol

Many people feel Facebook = FacePalm LOL.  But it is good to have both outlets, as Jager referred to.
