Title: Replacing Factory Wiring
Post by: T.I.K. on May 05, 2017, 05:38:31 PM
Have any of you guys ran new speaker wire through the existing wire paths to the doors?  I don't really trust the 1,000ga spkr wire from the factory to handle >100w.

I realize I could just drill through and hang some slack in the door, but I don't want to do that, I'd like to run through the factory black accordion tube.

I asked this same question to lostneye's installer over on diyma.
He said the hardest part of the install was running wire through the door molex plugs.
But I believe he was running 12ga.

I figured it would be a bit of a b*tch. Just gonna have to make some game time decisions I guess.  Nothing is easy with this car

I had to remove the door to pull the accordion straight and run the speaker wire through but where the accordion attaches to the car there is a plug that you have to pull through. It's a real pain in the ass having to removed every door but I find it much better for a cleaner install.
