Title: New Member from Oregon.
Post by: FLEXXX on March 20, 2019, 11:24:06 AM
Hello,

New member here in central Oregon. I have a 2011 EB Flex.

Mods : Head studs, MLS HG, ported turbo's, heads, intake, TB.
custom down pipes, exhaust, intercooler piping, intake, Water/Meth, Nitrous.

I am a Service manager for a Auto Group and have been building cars for 20 years.

This is my second EB. I had a F150 that was mild built and a blast.

Welcome.  Have any dyno runs with the set up?

Welcome aboard the EB crazy train.

Plenty of knowledgeable people here to lend assistance where needed. Myself included.

Although I suspect with your building background, etc. you won't require much.

The owner of this forum Mike B. (username Ecopowerparts) was a previous FLEX owner himself, & now owns the company (of the same user name) that provides lots of go fast and other necessary goodies, to help your FLEX to keep on scoot'n.

Pick his brain too.

Again, welcome. Don't see many FLEX's anymore, so the traditional request for pictures is even more imperative with/for you.

I have talked with mike that is how I found this forum.

I love the SHO and will probably get one after the flex trans/ptu come out of this thing in an amazing display..

has anyone done a "shift kit" in there 6F55?

(also do we really have to put in the letters and all that every time we post?)

I am on the other side of the hill in Bend.

I have a question, I have a 3bar map for the intake pipe, but there is another one on the intake manifold. why do you only replace one and not both?

The one On the intake is 2 bar, the one on the cac2tb pipe is 3bar oem.  U replace the IM one, not the pipe one.

Nice, does your shop do PTU fluid replacement or tapping for 2010 PITA year SHO's ?   Kendal here in town is useless  (**extremely** poor tech support and customer service) and they refuse even though they just replaced at their expense the last ptu that spilt in HALF ..  and i am all frigging thumbs and old.

I really wish someone would just put in a completely different trans all together and show us what to do so we all stop trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents with ours.

Honestly I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.  Sorry that happened and I'm glad you were able to get it repaired!  That is a huge setback.  Here's to extreme maintenance and no more failures 🍻

Yeah trans would have covered, upgraded GH turbos, hard pipes with BIG BOV, HPFP, and DP's with room for more exterior mods.  However, got to pay to play.

Man,  I know I am hard on cars,  but my car luck has never been good. *Except* for the G35 Sedan I had, cammed it, headers pipes, Orsis and it ran awesome. The most exspensive fix that car had was the cursed ballasts for the lights. (three of them)

But this SHO,  jezuz.  I LOVE this car when it runs.  I'm not doing anything different than anyone else,  don't drive hard when cold to save the PTU/Tranny, no oil additives, no trany additives, no RAD addivites to save the water pump,  softy shift from 1-2 mod to save .. well all of the power train.  But she likes exploding. :(  i know its just luck.. but man it feels persoanl this time.  this is the last repair.  i'll go back to (sadly much slower) Infinity when this car dies its last/next spectacular death.. or maybe tune a SRT ..

I bet the Infinit was fun.  I really feel for you man, its like you just got a bad apple but it looked good and the first few bites were good too.  That's hard man bc with all the problems you have to be wanting to just get rid of it but youre holding on by a thread...well I hope for your sake enough is enough and you can enjoy it to its fullest like it was intended.

Hey we should come up with a damaged list, the only thing I have not destroyed is the PTU ( give me some time ). As  soon as we get the tranny in there and get the thing up and running I'm sure I will break something else . :nuclear: :nuclear:
