Title: putting 6cyl ecoboost into a 4cyl vehicle

Hello all, Im about to buy a ecoboost ford edge sport, I wondering if its possible to put the 6 cyl into it and take out the 4 cyl , has anyone done this or know if its possible?

Even if it would fit, you would have to include the better 6 speed tranny, and all of the rest of the heavier drivetrain parts.

This would be a very expensive proposition.  You would be better off modding it with Focus ST parts and have Torrie tune it.

A couple of things.  First, the edge sport is not powered by an ecoboost engine.  It has the 3.7 v6 (same as the mustang base engine.  305hp 280tq.  The good news is that the 3.7 is just a larger displacement version of the 3.5, which the ecoboost v6 is based on.  Bad news is that their probably isn't enough extra room for the turbos, exhaust, intercooler, ect in an Edge.
