Title: Sprint Booster
Post by: Dxlnt1 on February 26, 2019, 02:52:46 PM
Has anyone installed the sprint booster or similar product?

Seems it could shave maybe a quarter to half second off 0-60 times.

Also a "cheap" way to help driving balls out from a dig!

Interesting concept. I bet it could be made for less then 20 bucks. I wonder how it would effect the tune.  In the SHO (probably other cars too) the computer closes the throttle in certain cases.  I wonder if this would still allow it do that.

It sounds like a similar concept to the JMS Pedalmax! Z

Great videos to see what actually happens.

Now we need a person doing 1/4 mile runs.

Since the SHO only opens one time and the BMW was lifting each time between shifts(manual) it wont make that much of an impact. BUT that elusive 60'. Can it help the 60' ?

From my 3rd grade education, I would just wonder on a turbo car is the lag necessary for the turbos to spool up? Or would it matter?

And yes like the pedalmax, they intend to reprogram throttle response. So in theory SHOULD not affect or be affected by anything else going on!

No lag in these cars.  Proven time and time again.

The delay is to make sure there are as few resulting incidents from "sudden acceleration", this is a safety feature on many if not all cars today.  You are not prevented from changing the throttle response, but the fact is the availability of torque at low rpm can be a real problem in mixed/city traffic.  So it is a good safety feature to have.

Come on SHOdded, you can never have enough torque at low rpm!

Is this the same thing as tuners modifying how sensitive the pedal is ?  I wonder if it actually opens the butterfly any faster.

Gentlemen.... I thought I would pull the noisemaker for y'all real quick and show you how fast our throttle actually is. So here is a quick video of our throttle body running and why that thing would be nothing more than something that makes your wallet lighter! Apologies about the video. Kind of rushed on the quality and angles lol.

Awesome man thank you for this!  Nothing can improve what is already instant throttle response.  Already in Race mode!

And this was just in park. I'm under the assumption it's faster when you are in sport as well.

And this is exactly what was needed to debunk this add-on. Maybe for some cars. But to ask is that response from stock calibration or with tune? Either way, I presume our tunes is what is re calibrating this.

Thanks again!

Good to know, I actually had to have one of my tunes put back to normal ramp because drivability was suffering a little with it set to aggressive.
