Title: StopTech Rotors with Akebono Pads
Post by: DirtClodimus on May 17, 2019, 10:02:42 PM
My 2014 SHO non-PP is in need of new brakes so I've been looking over parts for a while. I pulled the trigger and finally ordered some parts. Here's what's on its way.

Rotors:
Front
StopTech 127.65136L
StopTech 127.65136R
Rear
StopTech 127.65137L
StopTech 127.65137R

Pads:
Front
Akebono ASP1611A
Rear
Akebono ASP1612

Calipers:
Front
Power Stop S5468
Rear
Power Stop S5466

I don't track it. Some occasional spirited driving along with some  mountain driving as well. Besides the pads, choices were largely cosmetic, if I'm honest. Didn't need the calipers, for example, but I like the idea of red powder coated vs painting them myself. I think drilled and slotted look nice and they'll fulfill my needs just fine. I'll let you know my thoughts after everything arrives and I get it on the car.

Rotors arrived today. I'll keep adding pics to https://photos.app.goo.gl/hqoXY1QPaySsJhS97 (https://photos.app.goo.gl/hqoXY1QPaySsJhS97)

Edit: Updated with album link and removed attachments

Calipers and front pad pics added to the album. Couple nicks in the powder coat finish, but nothing major. Not bad for a remanufactured part.

Brakes are done! So far so good. I haven't had a chance to really test them yet, but no issues so far. I'm happy with the looks.

I added a few more pics to the album as well.

Thanks! If I could have gotten powder coated in a different color, I would have. Completely agree that red is so common. I'm still happy with the results. Blue would look great! Do you have a pic?

Uh oh, I hope I don't steal your blue idea!  I've painted mine black, silver, now they're red....was thinking black again...but Blue?  Hmmmmmmm....honestly ive considered purple as well....but would only look good IMHO black car everything blacked out...trim, lights, wheels...purple calipers.

Then go with some purple accent lighting.

Black Light SHO.

Purple may just stay as a thought and never come to fruition.  Looks weird....and again I am lost.  Blue looks good though.  Sorry to hijack the thread!
