Title: Clicking/Clonking sound when switch high beam on/off
Post by: shoville on December 08, 2017, 03:34:41 PM
Last night I noticed that when you switch high beam on/off a loud clicking sound comes from the front of the car. Is more like a clonk. I can hear it inside the car and apparently it can be heard out the car as well since the person who was crossing the street looked back at the car when I flashed the lights at him. He was already passed the car, so I don't think he would have seen the flash. Anyone heard of this or has it happen to their SHO? Mine is a '14 non-PP.

The shutters in the headlights are making that sound.  Since a single bulb is used for hi/lo beam, Ford implemented shutters to partially close off ouput during low beam operation.
