I had no idea Ford has moved to a combo injection system on the Raptor and GT Ecoboost engines. Does anyone know if the 2019 SHO will be equipped this way?

Not likely as the Taurus/SHO is slated to cease production in 2020MY.
Was just looking and if you spec out a new 2018 F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost, it also mentions the dual injectors but also comes with Auto Start/Stop.
That auto start/stop crap is annoying.

The Gen 2 3.5 EB came in 3.5 F150s with the 10sp auto. Think the 2.7, 3.3, 5.0 all are DI and port injection. Pretty sure the 2.3 in the mustang too. Yeah kinda funny, FMC is using both setups now.
Ford does have a patent on the dual setup IIRC, dating back to before the intro of the Gen 4 SHO. The timing of its' actual use is interesting.
The valves in my PI said otherwise about carbon deposits not being an issue. It is an interesting article though.

Dual injection is pretty tough, i imagine the patent simply preceded the tech 'working' well enough for mass production, that and the cost of dual injection is pretty high.
Mike aka EcoPowerParts made this possible a couple of years back. Yeah, not cheap, but it worked and worked well.
Toyota/Lexus and maybe some other Japanese mfrs had also implemented such a solution, mostly in higher end vehicles, some time back.

I *loves* the d-4s injection system .. its has been around a while and finally is making it down stream like in the latest Camry
Besides cooling the charge, meth does help prevent further deposits from forming... which I could add it without voiding warranty... I need to fabricate a quick disconnect setup..
If Ford really gave a s*** about the SHO/Flex/Explorer platform they they would have adapted it in 17' to be port and DI. But they're losing money on them...that's why they're getting the AX.

On a nice hot humid day you come to a stop at a light... engine goes off... the AC goes from nice and cold to cool and humid...
If you leave the car in sport mode it disables the start/stop stuff...

For modern engines, with SUPER LEAN burn direct injection tech it amounts to about 1/10 2/10's a gallon savings on the EPA driving cycle. it is super useless unless you live in cali and sit in idle for hours on end .. and in that event you die from heatstroke.

I wouldn't say it's useless, I think more is burned than what folks may think.
Port and DI both idle at Lambda 1.
When the Cmax idles at a light you can lose .1-.3 MPG depending on how long the light is. Consider that's with the Atkinson trickery going on with the valves.
It's not just fuel mileage, part of this is for emissions.
That being said, not giving folks the ability to turn it off is lame.
Ultimately we can't be upset with the manufacturers, ASS is a result of an overzealous EPA/CAFE giving manufacturers unrealistic goals forcing their hand and we get to pay for it.
Now at the dealership my fine lady works at the common complaint is that it doesn't function. Of course its functioning but they just can't understand that there are a whole bunch of hidden parameters that must be met before it engages.
