Title: X Pipe
Post by: Randy Stinchcomb on November 30, 2016, 11:16:10 AM
I hear so many complain about the sound of a V6. So has anyone with an Explorer or Sport removed the resonator and replaced with an X pipe? and how did it sound??

I think many people complain about the sound of the ecoboost V6 , not V6 engines in general.

And many people have done what you mentioned and it all still sounds poopy.

I replaced the 3rd cat with an x-pipe.... sounds good but a little raspy at high rpms.
3" catless downpipes as well.

Nice, Im leaning this way vs a full exhaust at 8 or 9 hundred dollars.
I'll have sum high flow catted down pipes coming and thought this might be a cheaper rout and add reducers after the X to convert the exhaust from 2.50 to 2.25
Thanks
