Title: Engine shield under the front busted bolts .. safe to drive in rain????
Post by: TopherSho on March 19, 2021, 05:25:57 PM
So the twist clips have all busted off my Ford Taurus lower engine shield,  the giant plastic skip guard looking piece.   It is still raining a crap ton,  so all the electronics underneath,  o2's some other sensors and connectors that normally would be hot and dry will know be hot and wet .. splashed on in 3-4 inch deep puddles..

safe?  get replacement before fording Oregon puddles ????

Well I didn't realize Ford never put mine back on when I had an oil change done when still under warranty and then wondered why oil changes were so damn easy once I started doing them myself after warranty expired. I easily put on 40,000+ miles before I bought a new one from Tasca.

Technically it's the rear deflector which is DA8Z-9910494-A. It comes loaded with screws. The twist clips and little bushings are listed below. I didn't realize the rear deflector came loaded so I bought it all and then sent back what was not needed. All my clips were still intact.

Disregard!   W709367S439 covers it... you are correct.

The only thing that doesn't come is the clips that are actually in the body of the car. So if those are rusted or broken you will need to order those. I think those are the -W716006-S439 part number which is 17 in the part diagram. When I look up the clips you mentioned they state grill clips, I didn't see any of those are part of the under shield.
