Title: Aftermarket sway bars!
Post by: Code AiR on December 28, 2019, 12:02:46 PM
Just wanted to give you all a heads up. I know in the past there has been a demand so I thought I would share. Check the attachment below for further information. I'll try to keep an eye on the post and let you all know when any further progress is being made.

If the "place in cart" tab was available now, I'd certainly be clicking on it.

You were the first person I thought of when I saw this. I was going to mention this in your build thread but I didn't want to clog it up.

Appreciate it. A PM would've worked to, but in this case, posting it for mass consumption and sharing best serves everyone involved.

Targeting for mid March maybe on mine. Or at least hopeful for that time frame.

Maybe these'll be ready by then. Guess we'll all see.

Group Buy perhaps!! Great to see new products introduced/developed for 2020! Z  :)
BTW - Probably will need a wheel alignment after install...

hello. i`m the guy who start all this with Whiteline. Lil update:

Mitchel Yardley (https://www.facebook.com/71Yardley3 (https://www.facebook.com/71Yardley3)) needs test SHO to check our 24 mm 2 point sway bar fitment. Located in SoCal. Ontario.
when Mitchell gets his test vehicle in he will make measurements and then Whiteline should be able to offer set of universal adjustable links.
So we need test SHO asap

Damn. Hopefully a test fitter pops in and volunteers their ride for fitment.

Not only am I no where near you guys, but my whip is still not running/driveable etc.

Good luck!

Please don't let a SHO coming in stop this train, if you send a pair OUT you would be looking at hundreds of test SHO's willing to put this on and take some measurements, myself included!

I would also check nearby Rental Agencies.

If he is intersted, I will be in SoCal April 6-10 and he can shore everything up then.

From Mitchell: (the guy from Whiteline who make this parts)
Hi guys. I just finished install of our @whiteline prototype rear sway bar. What you are seeing is a 24mm solid spring steel bar with 2 points of adjustment, whiteline adjustable endlinks, and lateral locks. Upon installation with stock links we were hitting the bottom control arm on big dips and driveway inclines. So I put together a tad bit longer end link than OEM and now we have plenty of clearance. Check out the before and after of the clearance. Yes there is still ground clearance for normal driving.

That being said we will most likely have to sell these bars with our endlinks or we might have an option for customers who want to use something else. But a longer link will be needed!

I should have pricing hopefully in the next couple of days. These bars should be ready within 1-2 months.

I know some people don't like the red bars so we might be able to do our signature Whiteline silver.

To the people asking about if the car got lowered. The links just need to be adjusted longer to accommodate a lowered car, that`s it

Last update from Mitchell. They make 3-rd prototype to clear
Hey all once again. Sorry for so many updates. But I believe we are all good with the rear sway bar. I test fitted the new bend design and it looks like we are all clear. Its clearing the control very well. After test driving. I did not notice any knocking like I did before on big dips and bumps and inclines on driveways. However, this was on a bone stock SHO suspension wise. I can't be 100% certain on a lowered SHO. However, it should clear still. I can cross that bridge when It comes.

That being said here are the photos of the bars. I am relaying all the fitment data to my team and we can hopefully have bars ready to come over here by The middle of April. I know its a long wait but it should be worth it.

Thank you, everyone.

P.S. I think they will offer sway separately and sway + endlinks if needed.

Send me a set, I'll verify they clear a lowered SHO...better yet...a lowered SHO with cut lowering springs....then you'll know they'll clear anyone's ride!

Well Mitchell was released from the company when they shut down for COVID. I've been I'm contact with another sales rep who says they will still be produced, but are delayed due to COVID. He said the work order has been created and they will have a bulk buy that I'll be hosting. I actually need to follow up on this, will report back when I have more details.

My build has been slowed down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and all of the resulting shut down orders.

So I completely get it.

Thanks for the update. Still interested.

Interested as well.  I can turn and burn a trip for fitment as well.  I can be in Ontario in about 4.5 hours.  I am sitting on cut H&R's as well.

I have an Explorer Sport and I just came across this thread. I have done some cross referencing of the Explorer's rear sway bar and the Taurus and it looks like the parts are cross compatible with one another (Sport and SHO) according to FordPartsGiant.

Has anyone looked into getting the Explorer's Steeda rear sway bar to see if it would work?

Is this for 2009-2012 and / or 2013-2019? I have a 2011 Lincoln MKS w/ ecoboost. Same exact suspension setup as SHO. I live 45 minutes from Ontario. Any day  I can go for fitment.
