Title: My 2013 EcoBoost Police Interceptor
Post by: SpeedTrap on January 31, 2015, 03:12:11 PM
While washing and waxing my car the other day, I thought I would take some photos of the car to share. I've tried to highlight the uniqueness of a PI vehicle. You'll see the ballistic panel doors, the lack of a door lock on the rear doors, the oversized dome light that can turn red, the vinyl flooring, and lack of a center console in the interior. In the trunk, you'll see a full size spare tire, metal lock box, and pull-out shelf. Enjoy!

Very nice!  What build/mods are you planning?

How do I get those rims? Would love some for winter next year if they fit over the TCE Wilwood Brake kit

Do you have the side marker lights on front fender?

Is the column shift or keyed ignition a bother for you?

And that slide out tray in trunk. I've been wanting something of the sort to lock valuables in. Looking at couple biometric safes but that tray would be awesome to have. Good pick up.

I'm selling one rim, I have a spare. You'll need to piece them one by one as these are hard to come by. I'm rocking the same wheels with winter tires, the car looks nice. I wish tey made these in alloy or aluminum though.

@pejohnson - Thank you! I can't get enough of the way this car looks. So aggressive!

@BiGMaC - Mod wise, I'm looking at packages from LMS. Most likely turbo-back exhaust, intake, thermostat, and tuned. Looking to mod early summer when the money is available. I'm also going to get tints and maybe a custom gauge cluster. That being said, if anyone on here can recommend a company to get a custom gauge cluster made, I'm all ears!

@DxInt1 - There are disconnected LED strobe lights on my fenders. The column shift took some getting used to but doesn't bother me at all, nor does the key. Funny enough, when I get into other cars now, I reach for the column shifter and always end up turning on a turn signal. Ha!

@BoostedBull - This vehicle fit many of my needs. I was originally looking for a truck/small SUV to carry camera equipment but wanted something smaller and sportier (using the term smaller loosely, these cars are massive!). Since I travel all over the country, I love having a full size spare tire for piece of mind. The lock box is great because I can keep cameras in there when the car is parked at a shoot. The sliding tray is also very nice to set up camera equipment on. The beefy wheels/suspension come in handy in dealing with Chicago's potholes. This car was perfect for my needs and I absolutely love driving it.

They're easy to get, just not for cheap.  ;)
I bought mine at the dealer, they had them in stock.

Are they 16 inch rims?

@Frozen Taurus they are 18" wheels, actually. I never thought I'd see the day where a vehicle had 18" steel wheels!

I seem to recall there was a post on here somewhere about installing those lighted fender emblems. As I recall they were blue or red lights. No strobe effect (emergency vehicles only) and just plain looked good. They were $200 I think. Maybe you could have them turned back on. And maybe someone here knows how and where to find that post. I couldnt.

By the way, stumbled onto these tho.

Usually illegal to have any red or blue lights on your car though, unless you're a cop.
