Title: Newbie first time in a Ford!
Post by: Ls2bait on October 12, 2019, 05:22:48 PM
Picked up a 17' Explorer Sport with 11k miles a few weeks ago and I'm liking it so far. Been a Chevy guy my whole life and this is my first ford product. Tried a Grand Cherokee Summit for a few years after selling my Trailblazer SS and the Jeep was a pos. After a few weeks with this I'm already fighting the urge to mod it. Likely will have a tune and a cai before long and maybe some new wheels. I have an 800rwhp Camaro if I get to bored :-)

Welcome to the EB life.  Haha.  You will be surprised how much these little motors get after it.

So far what I've reads been mostly positive about these things. And I love the styling. I think I can be happy with some mild bolt ons and some wheels. What's with the questions at the bottom and the code when I try to post?

So here's what I'm thinking of doing.

- 93 octane tune since I already run it
- Vented blow offs because race car
- AFE cold air intake (lid version) because race car
- JLT catch can
- Aeroforce pod/ gauge
- 20x10 FR500 wheels

Debating downpipes but I don't want it to get to loud it is my daily driver/ baby hauler

It's actually a Dana 60. 9.75" ring gear. It's a beast. Car weighs 3850 without me in it so it needs to be robust to drop the clutch at 6k.

I own a low mileage, 23K 1995 TA that is all stock 6sp, t-top, leather.
Still has the stock 3.42 rearend, and I know that is a weak link on these cars. I've owned it since 97 and rarely drive it, never been driven in the winter or bad weather.

I've had 3 fourth gens and a 3rd gen. Always been a camaro guy. I'll be buried in this one. It's like a child to me. Was featured in a couple magazines back when those still existed lol. One day I'll probably do a restomod 69' but that's not in the cards right now.
