Title: PB (12.8x) with AJP Tune, CAI, and Exhaust!
Post by: derfdog15 on October 21, 2016, 11:20:06 PM
Hey all,

As some may know, I went to Edgewater Sports Park for tune and test night tonight.

First run of the night was a 13.2x with trap over 100mph, which beat both my goals (13.5 and 100mph trap).

Later runs, with better launch, netted 12.9x. Finally dialed in a 12.8x.

Track was not prepped, and somewhat cold, there was a small turnout. Ambient was wonderful, and track is about 500 feet above sea level.

Definitely all in the tune, AJP Turbo is the friken man.

P.S. I know this is worthless without pics, but all the slips and my phone are in the car, and I am waiting on food. Ill post a few pictures later on.

Next step: SW Catless Downpipes (Courtesy of AJP Turbo), dial in a time with those, and fix my damn 60'. Cut 2.0s all night pretty much, and spun a bit on pretty much every launch.

Nice , 2.0 60' times and still 12.8's that's pretty damn good.
AJP is the man!!

Nice job....Maybe if you could pull a 1.8x 60' you could turn some 12.5 or 12.6

I'd say overall not bad with stock downpipes 15 psi and stock spark and using throttle that closes at times to control boost and using stock torque reductions on shifts

Hope AJ's also got you converted to using Amsoil fluids then, with these HOT times.  Will definitely save the turbos :)  93 fuel?  DA?

I looked at the slips again, and on my 12.8x and 12.9x runs I was cutting a 1.8 60'. Still think the car has more in it 60'.
I was running a few gallons of E85, and 93 V-power, but on a pump gas tune, since we have seen my knock sensor retarding during pulls.

DA at the start of the night: 532 ft, 98.74% humidity. Last run of the night DA was 212 ft, 99.38% relative humidity;

With the 2.0' 60 ft, best time was 13.2 - 13.0.

Definitely hurt some feelings, most notably an SRT8 challanger (his best of the night was 12.9) and when he ran me he cut a 14.xx. Also a 5.0 Mustang, an older trans am, and an S10 race truck.

Car also kept up with a Porsche Carrera S Turbo till about the 1/8th mile.

Definitely has a lot more in it with some E-blend tuning and downpipes. And some Megan Coilovers to get that 60' to 1.6 or so.

Congratulations on the new pb! 12.8 is a very respectable time for basically just a tune

Yeah and i think we all tend to get spoiled with seeing sho's in the mid 12's with tunes and its expected now....considering its common to see srt-8 cars that cant get into 12's and they weigh less with more hp i think the sho really is impressive

I hear ya man. It's an awesome feeling taking down cars that on paper should win but don't at the track. I've beaten a new cts-v, full exhaust dyno tuned coyote, and 6 gen camaro ss. All of those guys were cool about it and became a fan of what Sho's are capable of with such few mods

Speak of the devil lol. There was a guys last night with a black Challenger SRT8. He and his wife were taking turns driving his car. His buddy apparently has an SRT8 Charger, and also drove the challenger. They were making fun of the buddy, because he spun really bad on his try running the Challenger, and ended up cutting an 18 second pass. Driver/Owner of the SRT8 cut a 15 his first pass due to spinning. They said their best time with the car was a 12.9x and I was kind of amazed. Ended up being matched against him and he cut a 14.xx and got beat. His wife was LOLing hard at him, but he was pretty cool about it.

Ill post all the slips in an album in a few moments. I tried finding the sweep spot for break boosting, and still think I need a tiny bit of work on it, but ~2100 or so RPM seems to be where my car is happy currently. Higher than that and it cuts a 2.0 60'. Lower than that and it doesnt have the power leaving the line (did a run from a complete stop, just nailing it, and cut a 13.4x.

Here is an Imgur album with the slips, enjoy guys!

http://imgur.com/a/6FreZ (http://imgur.com/a/6FreZ)

Notable races of the night: Relatively new Challenger SRT8, that I beat. 2011-2014 Mustang 5.0 that I beat (don't know his car number or if it was stick/auto). Porsche Carrera S Turbo that I hung with till about the 300' mark. Also some older trans ams that I beat, an NHRA new edge mustang that I beat.

Overall, an amazing night, and I can not wait to get downpipes on and shoot for better times!

We were jacking the other thread!....Remember the runaway prius and Toyota's?..I think there are safety protocols that the car follows when the gas pedal and brake are depressed that after so long it shuts it down.

That would make sense, and explain why no codes as well. I thought it might have to do with heat to the PTU or something like that, but ruled that out, due to it coming on when the car was cooled down and not when the car was heatsoaked from Hot Lapping it.

Once again, though, I thank you for the amazing tune, and really hope the downpipes can get us into the 12.4 or so range.

I also think some Megan Coilovers will be in order at some point, to dial that 60' foot in a bit.

I have an ajp tune also... ran a 12.5 e20 tune, k&n filter....iats were super high though 155-163 during my run.. I think it has a better run in it. It was low 60's outside.(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161026/774d5ff57a065969517e55b67f7f7785.jpg)

We haven't touched my stock spark tables, etc. What boost are you running? I'm hoping for ~12.5 once we get the street tune dialed in, and then downpipes and 12.2 or so is the goal.

15psi. My car loves the spark, the e85 helps

You won't see a 1.6 sixty foot. You have guys in the 11's that are still in the 1.7's.
I've gone 12.2 and my best 60 is a 1.78 and that was a 12.6 pass 2 years ago.

Who is "we" and can we see the slip? Best 60' i've seen is in the 1.7X range w/ downpipes from a couple BCB tuned guys on race gas. Just curious

I would say its wise to keep it anonymous and simply issuing a "cautionary note" in pointing a course correction in this thread but feel free to post a "time slip" if it may be,thanks for your cooperation.  Z
