Is Ford using the 6F55?
If so, we might be seeing aftermarket upgrades soon.

F150 and Mustang are a bigger market.  SHO has always been after thought.  Just going by previous history.

True, but don't forget MKS, XSPORT, MKT, and Flex along with the various GM lines.

If the trans got handled then I'm sure we'd have PTU and axle failure following closely behind anyway.

Honestly, I've been very impressed with the robustness of the 6F55 and as long as trans torque management isn't set on murder, I think they will generally last quite a while even at some pretty stout power levels as long as high quality fluids are used.
